★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice, typical greek Taverna right on the beach front with a raised porch for shaded seating. Nice cool breeze going, quiet music and very friendly staff. Great selection of the typical greek favourites (my wife is still raving about the greek salad here), and some more international options (I had a perfectly prepared Filet Mignon) for overall reasonable prices. Good wine list, too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El Grece is a great seafront taverna overlooking idyllic Agia Pelagia Bay. We've dined here many times over the years, and the atmosphere and service is always impeccable. This most recent visit, however, it seems like the slow traffic the pandemic has caused affected the restaurant.
A perfect starter course, spot on wait staff, saganaki and other dishes cooked to perfection were overshadowed by a pork chop about a day and a half too old. As a former food and beverage manager, I know that food costs are killing all our friends who are trying to reopen restaurants and hotels. That said, this should have been a five star review of a stunning beach taverna.
Don't let a bad day dissuade you, go here for authentic Cretan cuisine with a dreamscape view.
