β β β β β Excellent food, the best sweets, really the most Cretan food to the perimeter of agia Pelagia. Try smoked with anthogalo, homemade zucchini balls and traditional bifteki. Thank me later.

β β β β β This was the best meal we had in our short stay in beautiful Agia Pelagia. Our host was warm, welcoming and clearly utterly passionate about Cretan food culture. A photograph of his Grandfather adorns the walls amongst other items celebrating Cretan culture and he proudly explained that he'd grown some of what we were eating himself. All the food was excellent, but we all (bar my wife who doesn't eat meat) were stunned by the smoked pork and sun-dried tomatoes. It was utterly exquisite. Stunning. We all agreed that the stuffed vine leaves were the best we'd had anywhere in Greece, or indeed anywhere. The bill, when it was sadly time to leave for our return journey to the UK was a pleasant surprise, adding great value for money to an already exceptional experience. I wish our host and his brother every success for the future and hope to be able to return one day. Yamas!
