Elpida Village - Kalo Chorio Agios Nikolaos

An ideal place for those who want to rest in peace and quiet in everyday life. Great view of the Mirabello bay from almost every place in the hotel - very good food that they serve tastes even better when eating out on the terrace with such a view. Lots of greenery and trees on the hotel grounds. A nice touch is the two meals in the pool bar, during which the service serves us typical Greek dishes. There is also an outdoor cinema, in which three films are played per week. For those who do not want to go to the beach, the hotel bus runs every hour. The biggest plus is the very nice and obliging service, everyone is smiling and friendly. I definitely recommend this hotel!

It's a wonderful place. Staff is really kind and friendly, food is truly tasteful (there are several dishes - f.e. those from lamb - that will satisfy the most demanding guests). View from the main restaurant's terrace is creating charming atmosphere. Rooms are tidy, but it would be better to make showers from glass and support shower gel and shampoo when neccessary. The hotel is located on a hill - for some people lack of elevator can be a disadvantage - in my case it was a chance to burn some calories :) I definitly recommend Elpida Village!

Very good food, 10-15min from sea, but you can take a ride with free shuttle bus every 2 hours.

Fabulous views from hotel facilities - restaurant, kafenion and pool. Some rooms have views too. Nice hotel staff. Mediocre food - ok for the price. Very tight rooms - no room for large suitcase at all. Shower was also too small. Beautiful garden, nice lazy atmosphere around. Warning: it is located on very steep hill - hotel is not adjusted for people with disabilities. Steps everywhere. Nevertheless it's a decent, low priced hotel.

This place is very cozy and relaxing. Every staff member is friendly, the food and drinks are plenty and enjoyable, rooms are small but well-equipped, bars wide open and the pool area, located side-by-side with the view is just awesome. The nearest beach is about a 10-minute-walk far, but there's a regular bus shuttle arranged by the hotel itself to a farther, nicer one. Oh and you can have dinner on the terrace, coffee on another terrace and wine on yet another one. Unlike most other hotels, this one is not just a single box of concrete, but rather a number of smaller several-room-cells distributed over the slope, which makes it feel more cozy. Overall, it was a great experience for me.

Very nice hotel, kind stuff. Rooms cleaned daily properly. Food is good, when you dont need something very special. Friendly atmosphere, quiet place with no night life, which is good if you want a piecefull holidays. Two beaches in 10 and 15 mins far away. Tavernas, shops, car rental with amazing prices just under the hotel and an aphotheke in reach. Reccommending trip to Spinalonga. Over and over very good holidays.

After recommendation from my Mother and Sister that were staying at the hotel in 2018, we decided to choose Elpida Village as our holiday destination this year and we had the best time! Hotel is situated in a quiet village. If you are looking for the clubs, loud music and shopping area this is not a place for you but I recommend to visit many family owned restaurants and spend some money for seafood. There will be no need to splurge money on local cuisine as hotel offers delicious food for all inclusive package. There are plenty of choices and baklava is to die for! Around 15 minutes walk from the hotel or 3 minutes drive by hotel bus there is a beautiful beach - Voulisima. I highly recommend to try jet ski - great experience. If you are looking for crystal clear sea - that is the perfect spot for you. If you are more pool oriented - hotel offers very nice swimming pool area with open bar and incredible view - BREATHTAKING. People working at the hotel are showing great Cretan hospitality and are very helpful. They are creating great atmosphere where you are not anonymous hotel Guest. Special thanks to Marina (best drinks ever), Maria (great recommendations what to see) and Manos (managing the hotel and checking how we enjoy our stay). At the and - hotel is very well situated. Great starting point for organizing your active time on the island. Hotel is helping with car, bike, quad rentals and prices and conditions are good. Spinalonga, Agios Nikolaos, Chrissi Island, Heraklion - must haves. We were travelling as a group and wondering before a trip how the situation with COVID-19 will look like. To be honest it is very safe, rooms are cleaned every day along with all common areas. No need to worry. Elpida - see you next time!

If I was writing the review based on our first day, it’d be a completely different one. When we arrived (May 29), it looks like the hotel is just opening. The swimming pool was dirty, pool bar was not opened etc. HOWEVER, everything changed the next day and the days after that were perfect! The swimming pool was cleaned, pool bar opened and offered different drinks (both with and without alcohol)+ small snacks in the morning and afternoon. The hotel restaurant is basic, but offers amazing food (I honestly haven’t eaten so much food before?). The hotel itself is nice and cosy, looks like a village indeed :) The room we had was a bit older looking, but it was enough. The only thing I didn’t like was the shower-it was very small and the shower curtain was sticking to the body, which to me is gross. We’ve had all inclusive board, so we had drinks included, which was great. Only thing I’d change is the cup size- they are really small and it’s annoying to go to the bar for 2dcl of beer all the time ? But this is just a small thing, other than that, our stay was great, the staff is really kind and very nice. I’d recommend the hotel for people who don’t mind that it’s uphill.
