★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely love this place and our favourite in Plaka village. Just go for their local Cretian food and you won't be disappointed because that's where their passion is. The waiter and waitress pointed us in the right direction of our choice of food and we were not disappointed. The owners are amazing people and will go out of their way to make it such an enjoyable experience. Thanks again and also the honey Raki is homemade and the best I have tasted on the Island?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good food, served by a young team of staff, friendly atmosphere. They will bring you a free intro of grilled bread with tomatoes, delicious. At the end you not only get the usual tsigoudia and cake as complimentary dessert, but they will give you before a free portion of your wine as well. So be prepared to stay a bit longer and be sure to have a someone driving you home…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great family run business, relaxing atmosphere. We went for drinks and planned to eat somewhere else but when we saw the food we ate here. Large choice of traditional dishes, fantastic warm homemade bread. Lovely wine, great free raki. Good service even though it was so busy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. I had read in the house’s guest book that this was the favorite—and now I see why. Elpis is indeed above and beyond all other restaurants near Chania. The setting is beautiful (in Plaka village square) and the food is DELICIOUS, well prepared and plated—and staff is of course friendly and knowledgable. Prices are nice, too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our Hotel is very close to the restaurants. We have to say that all in all everything was pretty good. Started with a self made bread with some dip (awesome). Main dish and after all we received some home made sweet. Really like the family flair in that restaurant. Very kind people. Wish you the best guys. The only thing I would like to claim is that in the playground the tunnel for the kids need to be fixed ASAP.
