Πήγαμε 11/4/2021, μια ηλιόλουστη ανοιξιατικη Κυριακή και πραγματικά ήταν βάλσαμο για τα μάτια και την καρδιά επειτα από την χειμερινή καραντίνα. Εξαιρετικό το φαράγγι, εναλλαγές τοπίων, πλατάνια ψηλά, οξιές, βελανιδιές, μανιτάρια, άγρια σπαράγγια και άγριες ορχιδέες (μην τις κόψετε, αφενός απαγορεύεται αφετέρου δεν ευδοκιμούν εκτός του χώρου τους). Το μονοπάτι ξεκινάει από το πλατανόραμα όπου αφήνουμε το αυτοκίνητο (ωραίος χώρος ιδανικός για οικογένειες και παιχνίδι, συν φαγητό. Τα σκυλιά που βρίσκονται εκεί είναι πολύ παιχνιδιάρικα και φιλικά, μην τα φοβηθείτε). Επομένως από πλατανόραμα συνεχίζουμε βάσει των σημαδιών (είναι λίγο ξεθωριασμένα) και του εμφανούς μονοπατιού που πάει παράλληλα με το ποτάμι. Δεν πρόκειται να χαθείτε αν έχετε στο πλάϊ το ποτάμι. Στο μονοπάτι θα δείτε και κορδέλες που δείχνουν που να πάτε. Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα και για οικογένειες και για δεινούς περιπατητές. Το φαράγγι ως τη μέση της διαδρομής (από πλατανόραμα ή και από το πάνω παρκινγκ) ειναι βατό και χωρίς δυσκολιες. Μετά τον πρώτο-δεύτερο καταρράκτη αλλάζει ύφος και γίνεται πιο απαιτητικό καθώς αν θέλει κανείς να προχωρήσει στα πολύ ενδότερα και να φτάσει στις περίφημες λιμνούλες, τη σμίξη των ποταμών και τους υπόλοιπους φανταστικους καταρράκτες πρέπει να αναρριχηθεί και ξέρει τι κάνει. Θέλει προσοχή τόσο ως προς τον προσανατολισμό (πάντα με gps) όσο και ως προς τις περιπατητικές-αναρριχητικές ικανότητες. Εξαιρετικός προορισμός δείτε και φωτογραφίες. Και πολύ κοντά στη Θεσσαλονίκη. A must see. The canyon is absolutely amazing, full of life, water, tall trees and all kinds of plants. Till its middle it is great for families but if you want to go deeper to see the amazing waterfalls and the small lakes you’d better be a decent hiker. You will have to climb different parts of the canyon. You should definitely pay a visit to this canyon. Definitely visit it !!! We went on 11/4/2021, a sunny spring Sunday and it really was a balm for the eyes and the heart after the winter quarantine. The gorge is exceptional, landscape changes, plane trees, beeches, oaks, mushrooms, wild asparagus and wild orchids (do not cut them, on the one hand it is forbidden and on the other hand they do not thrive outside their area). The path starts from the platorama where we leave the car (nice place ideal for families and play, plus food. The dogs there are very playful and friendly, do not be afraid). Therefore from platanorama we continue based on the signs (they are a bit faded) and the obvious path that goes parallel to the river. You will not get lost if you have the river on your side. On the path you will see ribbons that show where to go. I highly recommend it for families and for avid walkers. The gorge to the middle of the route (from Platanorama or from the upper parking lot) is passable and without difficulties. After the first-second waterfall it changes style and becomes more demanding as if one wants to go much deeper and reach the famous ponds, the confluence of the rivers and the other fantastic waterfalls one has to climb and know what to do. It needs attention both in terms of orientation (always with GPS) and in terms of walking-climbing skills. Great destination see also photos. And very close to Thessaloniki. A must see. Υπάρχει όμως πιθανότητα να βραχούν τα παπούτσια σας όποτε έχετε εφεδρικα στο αμάξι για την επιστροφή σας!! Easy hiking trail with water that makes it very beautiful !! However, there is a possibility that your shoes will get wet whenever you have a spare in the car for your return !!

Με κοίταξε για λίγο και εξαφανίστηκε… Beautiful landscape with tall trees. At one point when I was away from the team I saw a big fox! He looked at me for a while and disappeared…

Φορέσετε άνετα ρούχα και παπούτσια που δεν θα σας νοιάζουν να βραχουν! I highly recommend it, it is worth a visit to enchant you with the fantastic landscape created by nature. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you will not care to get wet!
