Π	Πέτρος Αθανασάκος on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Σε κάποια μεταγενέστερη εποχή οι κάτοικοι των Αλίκων αποφάσισαν να κτίσουν μια κοινή εκκλησία, σ’ ένα παλιό Λατομείο (Λατομά). Από το Λατομείο αυτό έβγαινε πορώδες ερυθρό μάρμαρο σκοτεινού χρώματος. Αυτό λέγεται ότι χρονολογείται από την εποχή της Ρωμαιοκρατίας ή και παλαιότερα. Εκεί υπήρχε μία αρκετά μεγάλη επιφάνεια, περισσότερο, ίσως από δύο στρέμματα πού βρισκόταν στο Ν. μέρος, στους πρόποδες του βουνού Καφτηριά και στο μέσο περίπου της απόστασης που χώριζε τους ανατολικούς και δυτικούς συνοικισμούς. Η ώρα της κοινής συνείδησης για ένα ενιαίο χωριό είχε σημάνει. Η εκκλησία αυτή είναι η σημερινή κεντρική εκκλησία των Αλίκων και σιγά - σιγά συγκεντρώθηκαν γύρω από αυτή όλα τα σπίτια του χωριού κατά συνοικισμούς με βασικό κριτήριο οργάνωσης τις πατριές. Η εκκλησία αυτή έχει αφιερωθεί στην Παναγία και γιορτάζει στις 8 Σεπτεμβρίου που είναι η Γέννηση της Θεοτόκο». At a later time the inhabitants of Alikos decided to build a common church in an old quarry. From this quarry came a porous red marble of dark color. This is said to date back to the Roman period or earlier. There was a fairly large area, probably more than two acres in the south, at the foot of Kafteria Mountain and about halfway between the eastern and western settlements. The time of common consciousness for a single village had come. This church is the present central church of Aliks and gradually all the houses of the village were gathered around it in settlements with the basic criterion of organizing the patriots. This church is dedicated to Our Lady and is celebrated on September 8th which is the Birth of the Mother of God. "
