★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely delicious food served in typical cretan ceramics. Very cozy and friendly atmosphere, friendly staff. Small variety of meals (written on a blackboard) which are changing every day... some meals local and cretan (like the perfect fava or dakos) some generic greek (souvlaki, tzatziki etc.). Local wine was delicious as well.
We stayed in Livadia 4 nights and we didn't have a reason to try a different taverna. It was an outstanding gastronomic experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gialites is our go to place for dinner (and sometimes lunch). I cannot speak for places outside of Western Crete but it is the best food we had on the island.
The atmosphere is very relaxing, Yannis is absolutely super nice and accommodating with every guest.
We come every day as menu changes according to ingredients arrival. Approved by our 3 kids as well who love climbing in the trees of the dining area :)

Practically the best meal we had on the island, no turist trap:) higlhy recommeded!
