Very good place. Friendly stuff . Prices are good considering the difficult transportation of the goods. A little bit care should be given on cleanliness as well as on mobile communications. It was a very nice experience !

Great establishment. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and friendly people. The food was great. I personally did not enjoy the coffee as much as I had hoped. Other than that great experience overall.

The best place on Earth. I highly recommend to trip to mount Olympus and to stay at Giosos Apostolidis Refuge. It's located at 2760m between picks Profitis Ilias and Scala. Firstly I would like to say thanks to the crew, they are so hospitable, patient and polite. The food is delicious, beds are comfortable, the Refuge is super clean. You can ask for helmets there to try to climb to Mytikas, the highest pick of Olympus. The sunset is awesome there as sunrise. It's windy in the night and in the morning so take your windbreaker. All the best to kind people we met there.

Nice people there running the refuge. Food fair and plentiful; they know you are starving when you get there. I would say that the refuge offers 5-star services - 2700 m above sea level. The place is ideal for it's quite close to the main summits around, so you can enjoy either sunset and sunrise.

The absolutely best camp!! I recommend starting at Gortsia (half way up the road to Prionia) rather than Prionia. It's pretty well marked and easily visible from the road. This way you can do a "circuit" and then end at Prionia. Not as many people on the trail (although there were maybe three or four descending) while ascending on that side of the mountain and the views straight down to the Aegean Sea are jaw dropping. It's possible to make it to the first refuge (Petrostrouga) from this starting point at Gortsia in two hours if you're in decent shape with only several minor rest stops if needed. Also there are only two really strenuous points during this ascent and the rest is relatively mild, whereas there are long periods of strenuous ascending when starting at Prionia. You also get the added benefit of facing the nice canyon views as you're descending back to Prionia when you're ending your circuit, rather than having it be behind you. It's another two hours (again if you're in decent shape) to the two refuges at the top. The smaller (Christos Kakkalos' Refuge) is popular and almost always booked, so booking ahead in advance is a good idea. Viewable from this refuge is the larger (Giosos Apostolidis' Refuge) about a quarter mile up the ridge, and they have a large number of beds (over 50 I think). Food there is excellent. I recommend either the goat soup or the peppers stuffed with rice. Both places have plenty of bottled water, wine and food etc., but no hot water for showers. There are in-door squat toilets and running water in many sinks for brushing teeth, etc. Definitely Olympus National Park is the place worth to visit.

I highly recommend this refuge. The people are very nice, friendly and will help you with anything. The food is great for a little refuge. The prices are also great. There even is spaghetti Bolognese!?! And you can also rent helmets for climbing the Olympus.

Great refuge. Clean. You need to have your own blanket or sleeping beg to be able to sleep there. Not so tasty food. You can buy here beverages (coffee, tea, beer). At morning you can have very beautiful sunset .

The highest well equipment refuge in Greece with friendly and helpful staff. Once you are there is like you are sitting on the throne of Zeus. You need to go there well prepared with hiking equipment other wise you may be in trouble cause by weather wind etc. Very close to the highest peaks of Mt Olympus.
