★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived 7.7., immediately after covid19, so hotel and near villages were kinda empty. All staff had face masks, room cleaning was necessary to order day before and food was behind a glass. But everybody were lovely and anything we wanted they gave us. You just needed to point to the food you liked. There were lines before the eating area few times, but food was fresh and there was enough for everyone the whole time.
Hotel only has a pier leading straight to the sea. It is nice for jumping and diving. Water is crystal clear, just beautiful. Sandy beaches are on both sides of the hotel, just ten minutes of walk. They have three pools, one of them is completely new with different slides.
The best part was the staff in the hotel. Anything we wanted they gave us, explained all the food, made us coffee when we wanted something special. I recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to spend time. The staff is great and engaged. Some rooms (bathrooms) could need a refreshment but the location and the super staff in the hotel is catching up for all the shortcoming.
Beautiful and great location. Great location- 7 min walk to Stalida with plenty of pubs and restaurants.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is good although there is not alot of variety or choice, the swimming pool is really good but the "aquapark" (the part with slides) closes really early.
The houses are a disaster with the matrasses being really hard and air-conditioning barely working!
But the employees are really friendly!
I give this hotel a 3 star review because the quality of the food long makes up for the quantity and the pools are great!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be honest I don't understand the good reviews about this place. It's my second night here and it's quite bad!!!
The food is awful, especially the breakfast. The mattress is very uncomfortable and you can feel the metal of the springs. The shower is far from what a four star hotel should be. We booked all inclusive and a lot of things are promised such as drinks and snacks which should be included, yet they even fail to provide us with common drinks such as coca cola and ice tea. You have to accept that they serve you with extremely cheap products and save wherever possible. No warm water in the room. Found a hair in the room in the first night. So many things were just really bad. This review would be too long to lost all of the stuff that me and my girlfriend experienced.
In general, I'm just dissapointed! It's not worth it. I wish I had not booked this place and would expect to be compensated for the low quality.
I want to point out that many employees are super friendly and make the stay somewhat enjoyable. The location is quite alright and close to the beach and the view is also pretty. Nevertheless, better to find a different place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They prepared some food for everybody that checked the first night after dinner time. They didn't have to, very much appreciated!
Very friendly staff and the best most beautiful location around the coast of Crete. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are well taken care of, the staff works very hard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The swimming pool with slides is a great attraction for children. The food is pretty good, views that accompany meals are amazing. Rooms with a sea view allow you to admire the sunrise. At the hotel there is a pier from which you can jump into the water and dive. A few minutes walk to the sandy beach along a nice promenade right by the sea. Staff very helpful and nice, the exception was one of the young bartenders who has to work on it. Rooms could be more modern and they could work on a way to unload the lines to the bar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just came back from a 7 night vacation at Horizon Beach Hotel. To be fair, I had very low expectations. I had never taken a "package" vacation and was skeptical of the whole concept.
But this hotel vastly exceeded my expectations.
PROS:
- Staff: Probably the friendliest and most willing to serve staff from any hotel I've ever stayed at. All the managers have an innate talent for this job (especially the gentleman with glasses and the gentleman who has an office next to the reception). This kind of service automatically adds 1-2 stars to every hotel. The restaurant and bar staff were also excellent. I am surprised that the waiters / waitresses were in such high spirits after such long shifts. The waiter with the diamond tattoo served us during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Amazing work ethic.
- Food: Greece is known for its great food. All inclusive hotels are not. But Horizon Hotel followed the Greek tradition and fed us with excellent food during the whole week. 5 stars to the chef.
- View: A beach hotel cannot fulfill your expectations if it doesn't have a good view. This is something that this hotel will have until the end of days. A fantastic view of the bay, mountains, and the town of Stalida. I will be forever grateful for those lazy dinners contemplating this beautiful view.
- Private pier: 3 minutes away from the reception you can jump into the crystal green sea. It's almost always empty -- you can even swim naked (preferably after 6pm though).
- Location: Just a 15 minute walk to the beach of Stalida. The hotel is right in front of the sea. Also, only 30 minutes away from Heraklion airport.
- Relax: Everything calms down after they close the bar at 11pm. It's very quiet. For me this is perfect, but if you are a party animal this is not the place for you.
- Great for swimming: I swam from the pier to the beach of Stalis a few times. Fantastic morning exercise (and safe as well, since the coast is quite near).
There were also some negatives, although they were tiny drops in the sea compared to the positives.
CONS:
- Bed: One of the sides had protruding springs, which made the bed a bit uncomfortable.
- Air-conditioner: It took forever to cool the room. And summers in Crete get quite hot so this is something to look into.
- Bathroom light: Sometimes it didn't turn on. Sometimes it flickered. Sometimes it worked fine. It was always a surprise :)
- Wi-fi: It's free in the reception area, but you have to pay if you want wi-fi in your room.
- Room shower: There's no place to hang the shower head.
**Keep in mind this is not a luxury hotel, so don't expect luxury amenities or rooms.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are just having our vacation here. The location of the hotel is perfect, in a quiet area but closed to shops and the beach. There is an access to the sea right from the hotel too, from a wooden pier, a great spot for snorchling. We don't mind older equipment of our room (not all rooms have been renovated yet) and we appreciate it's location near the water park and a playground. Hotel staff is nice, friendly and helpful which is not so much true about the restaurant staff. They ask you ten times during your meal if you've finished and they can take your plate. We also had a problem with the restaurant manager when our kids got sick and we needed to take some food to the room. We got a box from the restaurant but when we filled this box with just fruits and vegetables (slices of watermelon and cucumber, peaches and apples) we were told that we can't take so much! An amount that some guests eat after they've finished their lunch or dinner and it's definitely their right to do so since they've payed for "all-inclusive". When we needed the box again another day the manager came to our table and ask us very rudly where is the sick child. Almost accusing us of lying. Although the reception staff has arranged transportation to a medical centre for us before. We had to go to talk to other two managers to get the box of fruits again. Of course it's very uncomfortable when your child is sick during your vacation. And it's very unpleasant to deal with such behavior when you need just to feed him. Although you've paid for all the food. Not helpful or polite at all.
