★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We didn't mind Hotel Lozanni too much. Sure - it's not in the nicest neighbourhood but we didn't feel unsafe. If anything, there's plenty of convenience stores around the hotel, so we felt there was always someone about. Also I prefer somewhere that felt more like locals rather than touristic. BUT the nearest metro station - not good - we got pickpocketed when we took the train to the airport. Nothing to do with the hotel, but part of our experience in Athens. Our friend also had incidents, so I do feel it's quite rampant.
The hotel itself - it is a bit shabby, and the rooms are run down. But the price is good, and it had some very effective air conditioning. Not the most convenient as you have to grab the remote from downstairs. Very basic setup, but enough.
The staff were characters! Very nice and also very big fans of smoking. There was generally an eye on the entrance, so it feels somewhat reassuring once you get in. The rooms themselves smelt fine, and the shared bathrooms were acceptable (barely). Location is good, we walked to all the main sights from there and there was lots of thing to enjoy and eat nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Considering the price, the place is great. I've got a bed in shared room with another 3 people for 11 euros with exclusive bathroom and balcony. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. 6 hours after my check out, I went back to the hotel to grab my back pack and they allowed me to take a shower, gave me a fresh towel and a bed for a nap before I went to the airport.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Omonia is not the nicest part of Athens, and at night it’s hard to feel safe during your walk to the hotel, but the hotel itself is a worse experience. In our room, the walls, the floor, and the doors were dirty. In the bathroom the shower’s door was broken, we couldn’t even close it, so all the water went out to the floor. You have to walk down to the reception and ask them to turn on the boiler if you want hot water. At 4:30 in the morning the receptionist knocked on the door to borrow the remote control of the aircon for an other guest. Apart from this, the reception is very helpful and friendly, but it’s not enough to change the fact, it’s a not a good hotel. Our only consolation was that at least the bedding was clean... …and the price was low. I recommend it only for backpackers and only for one night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Correct price/value ratio.
Smoking friendly hotel. Only one small towel per guest. Shower handle broken, and a lot of noise from the street outside. A bit of a dodgy area. Friendly staff and air conditioner work very nice. Location in respect of tourist attractions not to bad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice enough place, IF you are on a budget and/or only want to spend a quick night. The personnel is very friendly and forthcoming. Free WiFi and air conditioning are also included. Keeping all that in mind, the room we had, however, was very small, and especially the bathroom seemed somewhat dirty (hair on the floor and in the sink) and the whole thing needed a paint job. HOWEVER, the friendly people made up for it. And for 23€ for a double room you will likely not get anything better. We were happy here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent price/quality ratio.
The staff was beyond helpful, made the stay so much better. The room was clean and large. No view however, but we didn't mind.
The area is a bit weird at night but everyone minded their own business. Maybe not ideal for solo female travellers, but with a bit of planning and caution, all good.
The building itself is a bit scary at night if you have a shared bathroom, but for no real reason. Just because of the size of each floor, I guess.
A pleasant experience overall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lozanni. The staff were friendly and very personable. They gave us a free upgrade because the bar was under construction, which was awesome! Room and linens were clean, comfortable and spacious. We appreciated being near a non-touristy side of town with easy access to the metro, and really liked the architecture of the building itself. Good shops in the area and close to the grocery. Loved American Laundry next door-what a wonderful service! Someone kept tossing our labeled food, which was a little annoying but wasn’t the hotel’s fault. If you’re looking for 5 star resort hotel, go elsewhere but this was a great place for us long term or regular travelers.
