★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The power plant complex for the production of electricity, includes three vertical units of francis turbines with a design drop height of 68 m and a nominal production capacity of 100 mw each. The filling of the reservoir started on January 10, 1981 and from March 10, 1981 the first unit was put into trial operation, followed by the official opening on March 29, 1981. The operation of the next two units begins in May and July 1981 respectively.
The foundation of the PPC hydroelectric project in Pournari of Arta was made by the Prime Minister Konstantinos Karamanlis, as it was one of the first major projects of the post-colonial period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "Purnari II" Dam is located 2 km south west to "Purnari I" dam (known Also as Arta Dam) along the Arachthos River.
The dam was made for hydropower generation and irrigation and it was completed at 1998, 7 years after the completion of "Purnari I" dam.
It has a height of 15 m and a lenght of 2,000 m (along the south side and the east side of the lake) and the power plant has a production capacity of 30MW.
