A new and relatively unknown monastery, built with great effort and personal sacrifice of the brothers and the Elder.

The only monastery in Greece honoring the miraculous Saint Martyr Theraponta Bishop of Cyprus. The foundation stone of the Holy Monastery was laid on 8/11/1987 while it was inaugurated 20 years after 22/9/2007. The monastery with its very hospitable nuns singing every Sunday at the Divine Liturgy.

The holy female coenobitic Monastery of Agios Therapontos has the sacred privilege of being the only monastic complex in Greece that honors the miraculous Saint Hieromartyr Therapontas, Bishop of Cyprus. The purpose of the monastic fraternity is the achievement of the Orthodox ascetic life and the spiritual rest of the coming believers. The foundation stone of the Holy Monastery was laid on 8/11/1987 by the blessed Metropolitan Panteleimon Karanikolas, while the inauguration of the beautiful katholikon took place under the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corinth Mr. Dionysiou DD on 22/9/2007. The holy mediation of Agios Therapontos is celebrated on the day of his remembrance (May 14) with a brilliant festival, while the protection of Our Lady is honored with the second festival of August 31 on the feast of the Holy Mother of God Zone. The main work of the Elder and the brothers of the Monastery is the construction of its buildings based on Byzantine architectural forms and the use of materials processed with authentic traditional techniques. The difficult task of the spiritual and material construction of the monastery was first assisted by the blessed old woman Akakia Kouroupi as well as by the other sisters.

A beautiful monastery that was built with a lot of effort by the elder Akakios and her nuns is the protector for me and my family
