Not really a five star property but with still without competition in Rethymnon Town. Excellent value for money. Pros: sparkling new, beautiful minimalist design, nice rooms (though keep in mind some categories offer little privacy), surprisingly good breakfast with a lot of variety, dinner is less impressive but still pretty good; most of the staff are very polite (Ari at reception is a gem). Cons: super slow service throughout (waited 40 minutes at the beach to order even though it was past 5 pm, constantly waiting for 20+ minutes at the bar downstairs to get coffee, then the check, etc). Horrid generic coffee at the main restaurant, I'd appreciate the opportunity to order good coffee with my breakfast (even if it's extra charge). Breakfast and dinner are quite hectic and crowded even though they try to space people out (due to Covid you need to select a time slot for dinner in advance). It's pretty far from the gorgeous old town if you plan to walk there daily. I'd recommend renting a car to explore the island and use the hotel as a good relaxing base. I'd return.

Overall a five star experience: - super friendly, polite and very organized staff starting the arrival till the day of leaving. - Very organized breakfast and dinner; it doesn’t feel crowded although there are a lot of people accomodated in the hotel. There is a very courteous guy overlooking all that is happening during breakfast and dinner and usualy he’s the one leading you to your table ( i haven’t retained his name because he is just moving all the time in order that everything is order and everyone is pleased). - Very tasty and varied food for breakfast and dinner (it’s a must to try the salads and the deserts); I must also mention the great variety of fruits. - The staff from the beach are there to just go along with your wishes (towels, water, food, deserts). They are very attentive and alert to your needs ( at least this was my perception). - All the hotel smells fresh; the rooms are cleaned every two days; the sheets are soft and the bathroom looks amazing; - Near the hotel, there is s renting company from where you can rent a car and visit the island; Also, you may use there space to park the car. - There is a great team here that will make your staying an unforgetable experience.

Definitely not five stars hotel. My room on -1 floor had enormous humidity because of the absence of traditional doors to bathroom, no doors actually. After a change, the room on second floor had unpleasant smell from the hole to a drain in bathroom floor. Hotel is strongly focused on German tourist, so if you are from a different country some things might look odd, like notices from reception written in German. Breakfast and dinner food is tolerable. Strangely, I didn't found traditional diary butter, only vegetable fat. Packages with dinners included are not a best deal, taking into account really good, inexpensive restaurants nearby. Dinner dress code is strongly advisable, for males: long trousers and covered shoes and for females quote: 'something beautiful, like a dress'. Personel is mostly nice and trying to help, the efficiency is a different story. There is no accomodations to dry your wet towels or bathing suit on a balcony, which is really uncomfortable. Few room items required fixing. Sunbads are 5 euro per person, which can be replaced with food or drinks orders. After 6 pm local time sunbads mattress and bads are removed. Tried to stay on the beach after 6 pm few times, received a discouraging look from 'beach manager', who was obviously not glad to wait for me. Note: no such information received from reception on beach sun beds availability or 'closing hours'. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to my friends.

#334 greets especially Maria, but the whole team! Our stay was amazing. Awesome room, food, 100% dealing Covid-Standards but most important: the fantastic friendly staff! Everyone doing an extraordinary job… and Maria is even doin’ better with her all day smile :) We’ll come back!

Amazing hotel with the best staff ever. Kind smiley and always there to help us. Extra credits to our fantastic cleaning ladies. Highly recommended and the half board will satisfy you big time. Thanks for the fantastic holiday. See you soon

It was a pleasure to stay there. The stuff was so friendly and welcoming. We would definetely come back! The service at the beach was the best and the stuff did a great job. The interior is so beautiful and we also enjoyed the main pool after we spent the whole day at the beach. The food is super delicious and everyone can find something he likes. Thanks to the whole team we had a wonderful stay!

The hotel is simply amazing. The staff was polite, well-mannered and very helpful. The hotel, beside its beautiful, simple modern style, was very clean. The room, with a nice seaside view, was very nice and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The food was absolutely delicious, with good wine to accompany any dish one chose. The variety of tastes in all courses was mouth-watering, not to mention the desserts! The service on the beach was the pampering kind, whether on a lounger or under the gazebo. The hotel is situated on the quiet side of the 'promenade' but at walking distance from the lively part of Rethymnon, making it perfect for those who wish to spend some quiet and relaxing time. Absolutely gorgeous !

We stayed at the Ikones Suites last year in August. It was one of the most amazing experiences we ever had! The Hotel: Just stunningly arranged and decorated. You are getting instant luxurious,beach vibes. Everything is super clean and modern. The Staff: From the first till the very last minute of your stay, the staff is very pleasant and friendly. They are always trying their best and are always very helpful. They even upgraded us to a Swim Up Suite, which was such an amazing surprise! The food: The food a la carte in the bar downstairs was just magnificent everytime. Done and presented well. The cocktails and service at the beach was also no doubt the best! All in all, we will come to visit again- amazing amazing amazing!
