Ionian Emerald Resort Hotel - Καραβόμυλος

Lovely comfortable hotel close to Sami village. Peaceful setting with beautiful views of the sea in an excellent location for a stress free holiday. Staff were more than helpful and we couldn't fault them on service or friendliness. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to be on hand for drinks, salads and freshly cooked food while we enjoyed the pool facilities and spa throughout the day. Enjoyed the massage voucher handed to us on arrival for a taster session. Tried 2 more luxurious treatments, which were very impressive both using only natural products by very experienced staff. Eating in the hotel was very good with plentiful fish, meat and vegetarian options including the delicious local wines, cocktails and beers. Would have no problem recommending this hotel and look forward to going again next year.

I’m amazed at all the 5 star ratings in the reviews for this hotel, it seems a lot of people are happy to spend money for nothing. If your paying for 5 stars you should receive the same level of service. Firstly on arrival, no information was provided about the area or the hotel, we had to ask for a map of the island and if they have beach towels available for guests to use. I was told they are available at the pool bar which opens at 10am, no attempt was made to get them for us seeing as we were leaving to hit the beach for the day. Info was provided on breakfast times, that’s about it. THE INTERNET IS SHOCKING!! It took me a good hour to complete this review. Breakfast is definitely not a 5 stars. Being in Greece you expect fresh yogurt and honey, all they offered was pre-packaged yoghurt! There was a half decent coffee machine on display, when we asked if we could use it we were told it’s just there for looks? The rooms were fine, average in my opinion and I have stayed at my fair share of hotels. If your looking for quality, look elsewhere to spend your money where it will be appreciated.

Perfect for a week on the island. Lovely location, friendly young staff (but the older receptionist should be a lot more helpful and smiley!) Breakfast is perfect and the rooms comfortable and cool. Great views over the pool and of the Ionian Sea and a really pleasant walk to Sami which has all the food, drink, souvenir, rental and excursion options you're likely to need.

Lovely hotel, with great staff. Location really suited us, with the hotel being a gentle stroll from the bars and tavernas in Sami, which helped with walking off the fantastic food we had every evening. The only small fault we had was that the breakfast selection was a bit limited, which surprised us when everything else at the hotel was so well thought out, including a good wine list and poolside menu. Still a 5 star for us though.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff is really nice and the location is good. 15 min walk by the beach to Sami. 45 min from the AirPort. Bathrooms can use an update. We booked the hotel because of the gym, but that was closed due to COVID.

Superb place for chillaxin around the pool. Very comfortable loungers. Great food and friendly bar staff. We 1st visited in 2019 and loved it. So pleased to have been able to get back!

We had an amazing time. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food delicious ?. Rooms with balconies overlooking the pool and grounds with the sea in the background. Gardens and swimming pool beautiful. Would we book again?? In a heartbeat ?. A big thankyou to all the staff for making our holiday at the Ionian Emerald Resort such a fantastic experience ??
