IONIAN RENTALS - Laganas Road 948

We rented a car from ZanteHire, it's the car rental next to IONIAN RENTALS. The guy who rented us the car is called Steve. He's an nice English man who found love on zakynthos. Just be fair to him and he will be fair to you like you should always be. He knows so much about the island that it is worth following his advise on trips and tours. The car we got was a red, small Peugeot 107 and we named her Karin. I think it brings out good luck to name your car in Zakynthos. The not-mainroads are small and sometimes steep. A 4x4 would be recommended but our little car did just fine as well. If there is anything wrong with the car or you need help Steve will send help. Don't worry about that. (we didn't need help but he makes you feel better so it's a big plus!) ZanteHire (Steve) and IONIAN RENTALS thnx!

Do not go there, they're hitting tourists up for money. We paid 80€ for quad for one day. Never again.

They lent us a car with flat front tires (1.2 instead of 2.2 pressure), saying "it's better for our roads" - no, it's really dangerous. The tank was only half-full and the key not working.

DO NOT GO THERE Save you some time and money and don’t go there, these guys on top of having very high fares try to scam tourists and take advantage of them!! They made us hurry to come back on our last day because they needed to renew our contract if we were to extend the quads location but when we arrived, we were told that we couldn’t keep the quads for one full day as they got another reservation in the meantime, but because we arrived late we still had to pay for another day…

Excellet service, the car was perfect for us (a bit old but thats ok). The great thing was that one of the staff, once he knew we were trying to reach the airport from Laganas, offered to bring the car directly to the airport, to avoid us taxi fees (there are no bus from laganas to the airport even though its only 10 min away)

WORST PLACE IN ZAKYNTHOS - Awful experience! Not only do they have the highest prices in the island (literally they do), but they try to trick you constantly and take advantage of tourists. To start, they made us pay in cash (they laugh and say it is because they don’t have connection) and of the three quads we rented stopped working the very next day. In our last day of rental, we had the quads booked until 3pm. We called in the morning asking whether we could return the quads after that and they said that there was no problem whatsoever and that we could arrive in the afternoon. However, when we got there they said that the person we had spoken to on the phone had gone home and that what we had told us was wrong. They made us pay for a whole day (when we had only arrived 3 hours late) telling us that if we didn’t do so they would call the police saying that we robbed them. We do not recommend it!

Initially helpful......once they had my money it changed. Quad had no fuel in it for a start, Then after a few miles had a puncture and had to limp back. Once back we got accused of crashing the quad by a very very Rude and abrupt man! After a heated discussion the accusations were dropped we headed out but couldn't really be bothered by then. Do yourself a favour and just dont hire a quad full stop! Horror stories are the norm.........

Hired our second Jimny from this place after the first (from a different rental agency) literally fell to bits on the first day. Booked online. The communication was poor - we didn't know if they actually got or owuld acknowledge the booking - but the car arrived on time with a very helpful individual delivering it to the hotel and the people - like everywhere in Zante - were very relaxed and friendly. However, the price quoted on the website wasn't adhered to (it said it included LDW but it didn't & was an extra 10-11 euros per day on top of the quoted price) but the car also had to be paid for in cash which was not made clear on booking. Dropoff was simply leaving the car at the airport and hiding the keys ! The car was mechanically reliable - considering the engine warning and brake fail lights were on constantly - but this didn't prevent random bits of the bodywork dropping off at various intervals throughout the week, and you couldn't use the aircon when going uphill because of a problem with the compressor. Seatbelts only could be fastened when the car was on the level. But overall it was OK for 5 days and a fun car to hire, and useful given the state of the Zante roads. it clearly had had a hard life as a rental car. Dropping it and leaving it at the airport also saved the taxi fare on return. If you hire a car in Zante - make sure you take zero excess LDW/CDW. Trust me on this one !!!! It's worth the extra 11 euros per day given the general state of the hirecars and the roads.......
