K	Kakita Ocu on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our boat’s engine broke when we were far out on the east coast. George was there with another boat, however he was unable to come up with a civilized solution. I had to work hard to keep the engine running to get the boat to the nearest dock on the south side. I was not even offered a refund in spite of the fact that my day was ruined. On top of all this, George came across from the very beginning as condescending. All he cared about was the boat, he couldn’t care less about our safety or experience. These are cheap boats, nothing to write home about. And yet, he was molesting me about why I anchored so close to the rocks (4-5 meters). I’ve seen yachts anchored precisely 1m from the rocks. If you want to ruin a day on Ios, this is the perfect way.
L	Lander T on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We rented a private boat (5 meters) for €150 + gas (which was roughly €50) in total without skipper. The boat engine unfortunately was a two-stroke engine and felt unreliable. We stalled twice on our way back but could get to the docks with reduced power. When informing Sophie from Ios Marine about this during our returnal, she didn't really seem to care too much about this. The boat was very basic and equiped with the essentials to go on the water, but not much more. As there are no docks to moor, you are expected to throw an anchor and swim towards the coast - but they do not provide a waterproof container for your belongings. You either leave these on the boat, or try to keep them above the water when swimming. There is a bimini top that you can only open when you are anchored, as it is not strong enough. Overall, we experienced our rental boat and the services as below average quality.
C	Coles Warren on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sophie and George are great. We really enjoyed renting a boat from them and cruising around Ios. Highlights were the cave at Never Bay, Manganari Beach and Tripiti. Sophie is really thorough with information on where to go and tips on anchoring, etc. Our boat had a 30mph motor and Bimini top for shade that was perfect for our needs. if you have some boating experience don’t hesitate to rent a boat from them and explore Ios on your own. It was such a fun day.

He knows how to navigate the Aegean Sea. The only way to see Ios properly is by boat with its numerous private beaches, swimming and snorkeling holes. He knows the island very well and you will surely not to be disappointed.
