But you can basically get anywhere on the island using these affordable buses! Check the timetable online (just search for KTEL Santorini) to be sure you have the most updated information; the paper schedules posted at most stops are out of date.

The people for the tickets also rude and not professionals. During COVID-19 the bus was full of people sitting and standing while balancing at the dangerous roads of Santorini.
A	Ana Romila on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What’s the point of having a schedule if the buses come whenever they like? Schedule different between the website and the station, none of those is respected. The routes don’t make any sense. People are crammed standing, even though this is not a bus for commuting, it’s a coach.
Ε	Ευαγγελία Κ. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a local here and with my experience in other places in Greece this is the worst Bus facility I have used. During winter there are only a few buses, when the tourist season starts a lot more are added but only to serve the tourists (ok they depend on tourism but that doesn't mean they should neglect the locals 'cause we are their source of income during winter). They deliberately won't stop in specific areas for the locals and the staff in Fira are usually concealing the express buses. In the end you'll go to the place you eventually want to go but like after waiting (or being late) and most of the time with a bad mood. I'm not sharing my experience as a student because that's a whole other story, and not a good one. Updated 14/10/2021 Everything is still the same and it's going from bad to worse, the buses are full of people, the stuff are violating the covid regulations, the bus is full of people not only on the seats but also standing in the corridor. Some people don't even wear their masks... ??
m	mikele9111 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just took the 6.15 am bus to the airport. The ticket for two people costs € 3.20 (therefore € 1.60 each), but the ticket seller on the bus wants € 3.50. If you point out the right price then he asks you € 10 for the luggage, which of course he can't do. Be aware of cheaters. Scam.
E	Evangelos Karageorgos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The drivers are no doubt good at driving and it's also good that the bus service is very cheap and busses are air conditioned, relatively clean and go almost everywhere. That's where the good parts end. At the station, there are no signs (on the busses or anywhere) to indicate which bus goes where so you have to ask the drivers in most cases. The drivers as well as the people issuing tickets are extremely, unimaginably, laughably rude, speak elementary English (not even all of them do), and have an utter lack of knowledge or interest on how to service people. It feels like the drivers and rest of the staff don't realize that the passengers are their customers that have come to this amazing island to enjoy a nice holiday and leave their nice money. Be prepared to not take their behavior seriously or else you're in for some quarreling.

"Does this bus stop at Karterados?" (it was the airport one which doesn't always stop there). (sarcastically) "No we will fly"
