This is the main bus station for the island. It is a disaster, no busses leave on time, busses aren't marked and when you ask a question the drivers act as if you've just asked them to give them their first born. My suggestion is read the banners on the bus and before they take off they usually announce we're they're going.

Although the bus is a good and cheap way to get round Santorini, every bus goes to/from Fira bus station which simply doesn't have the infrastructure to deal with the volume of people and coaches. Hence catching a bus becomes an unorganized chaos of people cramming on, with not a great deal of indication of which bus goes where!! The timetable is completely pointless, just listen for someone shouting the name of the bus route, get on and hope it's right!! Once you're on (and have a seat) things get a bit better!

No structure, absolutely chaotic. It’s cheap but just look at the state of the buses

Absolute chaos! The drivers and personnel are rude with no respect for the passengers. We were taking a bus from Fira to the Athinios Port, but the bus only came every hour and a half! We were lucky to be there waiting an hour before it came because the bus to the port came 30 minutes before it’s departure time, filled up within 5 minutes, and left 15 minutes before it was supposed to depart. Many people were left waiting for another bus to the Port, but another bus wouldn’t come for another hour and a half. The man taking the money for tickets was extremely rude yelling at people to put their luggage under the bus before they could buy their ticket. When the bus was full he started turning people away yelling “Get another bus!” but those people waiting had already put their luggage under the bus, so that they could buy a ticket. When one man tried to get his luggage back the driver grabbed him by the wrist, started yelling at him, and trying to pull him away. The man was very calm just asking for his luggage back (along with about 10 other people who had already put their luggage under the bus, but didn’t get the ticket). This experience was terrible and very nerve racking. We took the bus because it was 2.30 euros compared to a 30 euro transfer. Saving the money was great, but the bus itself was a disaster.

Kind of chaotic bus station but it gets you where you need to go on the island for a very cheap affordable price.

Read many bad reviews about rude staff there. They are not nice, yes but I didn’t expect much anyhow. In nov, it doesn’t run as often as during peak season hence I took some bus schedule pics in case anyone wants to check out. They do run pretty on time - I guess there’s not much traffic jam during low season/winter time! Pay in the bus so don’t bother to ask the ticket booth people as they are also rude ? Only “public” transport in the island apart from private taxi (I got no idea how to call one though, except help from hotel staff), so it gets you from one place to another! Lastly - there are other stops on the way but do let the driver or ticketing staff on bus know where you wish to get off when purchasing the ticket!! Good luck :) Note - don’t even appear as you got some food & drinks on hand, I saw the ticketing guy yelling at people coz they were holding some form of food items :))

The main bus station of the whole island. From here you can reach every part of it. But be ready for crowds of tourists like you :-) It's better to choose the most unpopular time - early-early morning for travel around the island by buses. You must pay for ticket while boarding! Do not try to buy a ticket at the station office.
