★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having dinner here felt like uncovering a hidden gem that you don't want to share with anyone...but that would be unfair. This small restaurant deserves to be appreciated and celebrated by anyone who would like to experience Sifniot soul food at its best. Everything is cooked with love and twists to classics are executed with aplomb. I had the pleasure of meeting the chef Kassiani (which I hope I have spelled correctly) who is a talented and humble young lady keeping traditional home cooking alive and honouring the farm to table ethos.
Do yourselves a favour and book a table for an evening in this wonderful courtyard.
We will surely be back next time we are on the island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m an airline pilot who has been fortunate to eat across continents on a regular basis. Few restaurants make you say “wow” at every single dish that you’re served. However Kafenes is most definitely one of them.
Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The freshest ingredients of exceptional quality. The Kafenes salad - incredible. The moussaka - hard-to-beat comfort food. The melitzanosalata - beautifully smoky and moreish and the chicken pies - if only we had these onboard our flights ?
Thank you for such a wonderful culinary experience from some lovely people. By far the best dining experience in Sifnos and quite possibly in Greece.
