N	Nick Sakel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Μαγευτική τοποθεσία με θέα το Θερμαϊκό κόλπο και ταυτόχρονα τόπος θρησκευτικής κατάνυξης. Λίγα χλμ πιο πάνω, υπάρχει υπέροχος χώρος πικ νικ (ΞΕΡΟΛΑΚΑΣ). Enchanting location overlooking the Thermaic Gulf and at the same time a place of religious worship. A few km above, there is a lovely picnic area (XEROLAKAS).

Είναι γνωστή ως Μονή των Κανάλων, ονομασία που οφείλεται στους τέσσερις χειμάρρους, στα «κανάλια», όπως λέγονταν, που πήγαζαν εκεί και σχημάτιζαν τον μικρό ποταμό Ζηλιάνα. Σύμφωνα με την παράδοση, ιδρύθηκε από τους μοναχούς Δαμιανό και Ιωακείμ, τον 9ο ή τον 11ο αιώνα, ωστόσο η παλαιότερη γραπτή μαρτυρία για την ιστορία της είναι μία επιγραφή του 1638, που αναφέρεται στην αγιογράφηση του μικρού ναού των Αγίων Πάντων. It is known as the Canal Monastery, a name due to the four torrents, to the "canals", as they were said, that went there and formed the small river Ziliana. According to the tradition, it was founded by the monks Damianos and Ioakim in the 9th or 11th centuries, but the earliest written testimony to its history is an inscription of 1638, referring to the hagiography of the small temple of the Saints.

Wonderful monastery in a nice location, a real paradise! Sister Katerina was very kind and told us a lot of historical information. We will definitely be back again.
