We've been dining at Kastro for years, and never had a bad meal. The host Petros is a charming, friendly guy who makes every effort to welcome you and make you feel relaxed. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending taverna Kastro :-)

Excellent service and good quality ingredients. Traditional greek cuisine with a Mani flavor. Well executed recipes. Portions could be bigger. The mosquitoes are a bit of a problem. Use a potent repellent.

Also ordered a salad and an appetizer which was a rolled up and fried crepe of ham and cheese. Served complimentary dessert which was a slice of yogurt and fruit which seemed baked with a crumble topping. Very tasty food, fresh ingredients, made and served with love. The servers were very friendly and welcoming people, very genuine and authentic restaurant where the menu changes daily depending on the best food sourced that day. The menu of the day was read out to us which was a nice touch, and we were able to ask questions. Lovely to sit out on the cobblestone terrace overlooking the olive grove. We also made some friends with the local kittens and fed them a sneaky piece of ham each. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others!
