Fantastic view, wonderful tranquility. In the square there is a picturesque cafe, but you can also eat something casual.

Very nice church with nice views. The village is very nice in general. Leave the car somewhere on the peripheral village and explore the alleys.

ΟΙΤΥΛΟ H ΚΟΙΜΗΣH ΤΗΣ ΘΕΟΤΟΚΟΥ
Ο Μητροπολιτικός ναός της Παναγίας στο Οίτυλο στην πλατεία του Κάστρου, κτισμένη στην έξω πλευρά του Κάστρου. Στα βυζαντινά χρόνια ήταν Μοναστήρι ενώ πιθανότατα ο αρχικός ναός έχει κτισθεί πάνω στα θεμέλια αρχαίου ναού. Ο σημερινός ναός πρέπει να κτίσθηκε μεταξύ 1886 - 1889 και είναι παλαιότερος του Ταξιάρχη. Στην εξωτερική τοιχοποιία της εκκλησίας διακρίνονται εντοιχισμένα μαρμάρινα επιτύμβια.

AITILO (KIMISSI THEOTOKOU)
THE TITLE OF THE KINDERGARTEN
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady in Itilo on the Castle Square, built on the outside of the Castle. In the Byzantine years it was a Monastery and probably the original church was built on the foundations of an ancient temple. The present church must have been built between 1886 - 1889 and is older than the Taxiarch. In the exterior wall of the church there are built-in marble tombstones.

Απίστευτη τοποθεσία κάτω από την κεντρική πλατεία με θέα σε όλον τον κόλπο! Εντοιχισμένα πλακίδια εξωτερικά με διάφορες παραστάσεις μεταξύ των οποίων και Βυζαντινού Αυτοκράτορος.
An excellent example of Mani architecture in an ancient village literally (Itilo) full of ancient, Byzantine and modern history. Incredible location below the main square overlooking the entire bay! Built-in exterior tiles with various representations, including the Byzantine Emperor.
