A local recommended this place because they're friends with the owner. I should have checked the reviews first.. To list off all the negative points: * Instead of welcoming me, they asked what I was doing there, as if I was just enjoying the shade. * Pressured to add mussels to my order * The view was ruined by watching a worker try to coerce passerbys to dine there * When he wasn't doing that, he awkwardly stood next to my table * High prices for forgettable food and poor service

All the free stuff he offers is miraculously on the bill. I think anyways, I'm not sure, I didn't even get to see a bill. But I got a chicken souvlaki, a glass of wine, a small beer, and spaghetti bologna which on the menu added up to maybe 25 or 30 euro, but again somehow it wound up being 62 euro. Well alright, let me just get my debit.....oh, wait. you don't take debit card? Well I can't pull money out. So he takes 60USD and a 20 Euro note. I break out my converter online, the one connected to the internet with world conversion rates as of that second, and find that 60USD is about 50 Euro, coupled with the 20 Euros makes about 70 Euros. But he tells us 'No need more, 10 more' and keeps pushing. Meanwhile before this I've given the waiter (Andreas was his name I beleive) a 20 Euro tip for being pleasant and talking with us, which I think he felt bad for because he told me no several times and reluctantly accepted it, which I think was precursor to feeling bad knowing that the sleazebag was about to rip us off hardcore with mediocre food. I really want to just go stand outside the store and every person he assaults and tries to drag into his place, warn them the whole time they will be paying quadruple the price for a quarter of a normal meal. Every single shop owner, restraunt, even the hotel we stayed at staff knew when I mentioned it. He is easily the biggest blemish on your visit to Chania, easily avoided if you tell him No, @^$% Off, or whatever language you want to tell him you want no part of that place and hopefully the place will go into foreclosure so a true restraunt can open there. One that isn't a massive trap.

The worst place in the Chania harbour! Stay away! it's empty for a reason, suprised it even exists after reciving so many awful reviews. We only had a beer, because we wouldnt order anything else there, got bigger than we wanted and they told us it's 18€ for two beers, paid for what we wanted in the first place, so for 2 small beers. The owner was pushy and deceitful ?

Never eat here, this is a scam. Didn't get a chance to look at the menu before eating, assumed normal prices and accepted their recommendations. Ended up paying more than threefold of what I should have paid for a hastily served extremely mediocre meal with small portions and not much taste. 9€ for a 0.5 bottle of crappy shop-bought wine. 14€ for some fatty and tough lamb and fries that you could eat in two forkfuls. 9€ for some hummus that had no more taste than the plate it was served on. 12€ for a tiny portion of grilled cheese. Luckily they forgot to bring my salad, probably that would've been around 20€. I complained of course, and obviously all the prices were down in the menu, which they now had plenty of time to show me. Couldn't do anything but cough up. Told them what I thought about their prices and they complained about taxes and estate prices, and quoted a sum that totally doesn't justify the price. Rude and sleazy service. All over horrible place. Avoid at all costs even as a last option.

Terrible place, avoid! Outrageous prices (€2 for 4 small pieces of stale bread, €3 for water, main dishes were ~ €15 for nothing special). We realize it is off-season but very little was available on the menu. What was served was mediocre at best. We told the waiter this was the most expensive restaurant in which we'd eaten in all of Crete (we didn't even begin to express our opinion of the poor quality), and there was a sulky argument about this. "Just stating a fact," I responded. Not even worth the view given the many other establishments along the waterfront.

Avoid this place! We can only regret that we didn't check recommendations before. Was exactly as it is written here. The '' restaurant'' is empty, but surrounded by other full of people places. Thanks, we decided to drink only beer. We ordered 2 beers 0.5l and got both 1liter draft beer no name which we haven't ordered . Then we asked for a bill and guy said 18€!!! It you care about your health and good atmosphere, do not go there!

They cheat customers! Don't use this place. Male waiter said that kids will have free sodas but insisted to pay before leaving. Terrible food, frozen pizzas!!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!, NO SE ACERQUEN A ESTE SITIO, OMIJAĆ SZEROKIM ŁUKIEM, Μείνε μακριά! We were charged 17 euros for 2 coffees and 1 ball of ice cream. To make it better we could not pay by card.. (“The line was broken”, sure!) so I had to pay in another restaurant.. really fishy. I guess the owners wonder why this was the only empty cafe in the whole harbour of Chania. Really sad to see that they are treating customers and tourists in this way. First time that I feel SCAMMED in Greece. Lesson learned, always check reviews, even for a beer or a coffee. :(
