★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Kritsa Gorge is one of the beautifulst hiking trails on Kreta. I can highly recommend this trail for everyone who loves the nature. The trail is signet with red dots and the way is easy to use. Peaceful spot!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This has to be one of the prettiest villages in Crete. I don't doubt it gets busy in summer, but in spring and autumn you'll almost have the village to yourself and there's lots to see. In addition to its beauty, there are several churches worth exploring, 5 minutes away (by car) there is a well-known Dorian archeological site (Lato) and nearer at hand the Kritsa Gorge, a fairly straightforward ramble with one or two bits of clambering over large boulders perhaps a couple of hours or so round trip. Back in the village, the shops are well-known for their crafts - and of course there are plenty of cafes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A cozy and tiny greek mountain village with lots of authentic houses. Really enjoyed old town - trully beautiful alley of the central part of the city. Also - saw lots of local elderly people doing handcrafts near their houses. Feels like the time stopped here. Loved the atmosphere and wished to spend a bit more time there.
The road to the village/city is nice. Few cozy places to eat. Many local shopping places for souvenirs and handcraft. Shop-keepers friendly. There's free parking on the top of the city, located in a 2 mins walking from city center. Hilly.
