★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στην οδό Έβανς 24, βρίσκεται ένα από τα ομορφότερα κτήρια του Ηρακλείου, γνωστό ως «Εφκάφι»(στα τούρκικα evkâf.) Κτίστηκε γύρω στο 1878 για να στεγάσει την Υπηρεσία Εφκαφίων, δηλαδή την Οθωμανική Δημόσια Υπηρεσία που είχε στη δικαιοδοσία της όλες τις δωρεές(βακούφια). Το κτίριο είναι υπέροχο δείγμα νεοκλασικισμού με κάποια οθωμανικά και “ανατολίτικα” στοιχεία, όπως οι ποδιές των παραθύρων του ορόφου, όπου το επίχρισμα παίρνει τη μορφή καφασωτού και οι Αραβικές επιγραφές. Η Νεοκλασική διαμόρφωση της πρόσοψης είναι έντονη: Άξονες συμμετρίας, περίτεχνα κιονόκρανα και τονισμός του κεντρικού στοιχείου της εισόδου.
Δυστυχώς ο στενός δρόμος χωρίς πεζοδρόμιο δεν επιτρέπει την ποιοτική θέαση και φωτογράφιση του κτίσματος. Επίσης το κτίσμα είναι ασυντήρητο με ίχνη εγκατάλειψης.
 At 24 Evans Street, is one of the most beautiful buildings in Heraklion, known as "Efkafi" (in Turkish evkâf.) It was built around 1878 to house the Efkafi Service, ie the Ottoman Public Service that had all the donations under its jurisdiction ( bakufia). The building is a wonderful example of neoclassicism with some Ottoman and "oriental" elements, such as the aprons of the floor windows, where the coating takes the form of a lattice and the Arabic inscriptions. The Neoclassical configuration of the facade is intense: Axes of symmetry, ornate capitals and emphasis of the central element of the entrance.
Unfortunately, the narrow road without sidewalk does not allow quality viewing and photography of the building. Also the building is unmaintained with traces of abandonment.
