Το τζαμί χτίστηκε στο νότιο τείχος της παλιάς Βέροιας, και βρίσκεται δίπλα στο Βυζαντινό Μουσείο της πόλης . Ένα από τα πέντε της πόλης δερβίσης οικήματα βρισκόταν στο νότο της στην οθωμανική εποχή, πιθανόν από τη μία είναι γνωστή ως Μπάμπα Τεκκέ. Το δεύτερο όνομά του, "Τζαμί Boyali", σημαίνει "Ζωγραφισμένο Τζαμί" και αναφέρεται στα φωτεινά χρώματα με τα οποία αρχικά ήταν διακοσμημένο το εξωτερικό του. Μόνο ίχνη από αυτά σώζονται σήμερα, και το κτίριο φαίνεται εξωτερικά διακριτό από μια ιδιωτική κατοικία με την κεραμοσκεπή, έναν ρόλο που έπαιξε για λίγο τον 20ο αιώνα. Το πιο εντυπωσιακό χαρακτηριστικό του ήταν ο μιναρές του , ο οποίος έμοιαζε με μια δωρική στήλη στο σχήμα του. Ο μιναρές κατέρρευσε το 1940 και σώζεται μόνο η βάση σήμερα.

The mosque was built on the south wall of old Veria, and is located next to the Byzantine Museum of the city. One of the five dervish townhouses was located to the south in Ottoman times, probably known as Baba Tekke. Its second name, "Boyali Mosque", means "Painted Mosque" and refers to the bright colors with which its exterior was originally decorated. Only traces of them survive today, and the building looks distinct from the outside with a private house with a tiled roof, a role it played for a while in the 20th century. Its most striking feature was its minaret, which resembled a Doric column in its shape. The minaret collapsed in 1940 and only the base survives today.
