We were expecting a hotel , with usual basic hotel facilities of bar,breakfast, other guests, etc. But it's just rooms , beautiful clean stylish rooms in a fabulous waterside location, great. But the restaurant we thought attached is actually in the next village. So not what we expected but nonetheless a fantastic stay in a fantastic old style quiet Greek island.

so so, the property isn't very attentive; rooms are nice especially those with a sea view

Positive: The position and outlook from the room was fantastic. The room had everything that we needed. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard.. Negative: The walk to were you park your car can be a bit of a pain. Other than that there is nothing to dislike..

Positive: The view from the lovely little balcony was extra special, swimming from rocks was fantastic when wind wasn’t blowing too much (I was a bit unlucky with local meltemi wind as it spoilt 10 days of my holiday). Room wasn’t too big, but it was very cosy, well looked after, cleaned daily to perfection. There was always hot water, Wi-fi worked always, there is a nice vending machine with water, some sweet choices and even sardines (when hungry but too tired to search for food elsewhere). I loved the fact that it was incredibly quiet place at the beginning of September. I would be very interested to see how Sikinos develops as an island, as I feel it lacks somewhat respect for tourists compared to many other places. But it is a really beautiful island and if staying on Sikinos, Maistrali is a great place to base yourself in. As many other people pointed out hosts will be very helpful with your request and will even go over and beyond when necessary.. Negative: Apart from slightly rusty Toaster I can’t fault this place. Sadly, It is somewhat let down by other businesses and services on the island that don’t offer great quality, and are overpriced. When going for swim, once out of hotel, take the way to the beach on the right as you come out. Best to avoid disturbing dog as there is an alternative way down. I didn’t get that straight away and I wish I did..

Positive: The view from our room made us feel like we were on a cruise ship! It’s so close to the water, you can hear the waves if you leave the balcony doors open at night. We were met at the port and our luggage was taken to the room as we arrived quite early in the morning and we we offered the room a few hours earlier than the check-in time. Also, on our day of departure our ferry left late in the afternoon and as the room wasn’t booked until the next day they allowed us to use the room until the ferry departed, and also dropped our luggage off for us at the port. Sikinos is a lovely island for a real rest. It has a feeling of being a place where people have come back repeatedly for many decades to have family holidays. We found the people to be warm and friendly and most excepting of us as non-Greeks. We look forward to returning to Sikinos, and particularly Maisrali.
