Super nice hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and a beautiful view. We had an amazing time!

Great set of apartments. Food is all home cooked, staff friendly. The only thing keeping this from a five star is the steel hill you have to walk up to get there from the centre of Stalis

The Bella Vista is a lovely little place, nestled a kilometre up a hill fro the seafront in Stallis. The compound consists of a nice little pool and a bar, with apartments built up the steep hillside to the North, as well as a few on a terrace at the front. There is a new addition of a dining area with a small buffet for breakfast and evening meals - although we more often ate breakfast at one of the outside tables. The food selection is limited due to the small size, but Maria provides a good quality and variety. It is slightly less than a kilometre to the beach - down the steep hill, under the main coastal road, and a quick dogleg on to the seafront. I found this to be fa better than being in one of the hotels at the bottom of the hill for several reasons. Firstly, the view is spectacular; over the sea, and coast stretching to the East, and the sunrise over the mountains. Being up the hill also means you are above the humidity that can dog the coast. Also, while Stalida is far quieter than the resort of Malia next along, the Bella Vista sits in the quiet away from any loud partying or bars. Of course, there are all the bars and restaurants you could want a short stroll down the hill, as well as a couple of supermarkets, and you can always get a taxi back up up you are overburdened or have overindulged. The rooms are lovely, cool and spacious, with a bedroom, a living room (with one or two sofas that convert to beds if required) and a bathroom with shower. All the rooms have at least one balcony, and the one we were in had a small quiet balcony at the back along with a huge patio balcony, the roof of the apartment below us. Finally, the thing that always makes or breaks a hotel - the welcome. Largely because the Bella vista is so small, it really does feel like a friendly, almost family, establishment. Maria is in charge, and constantly here and there sorting things out - but friendly and approachable if needed - and there is always someone at the bar and/or the office if you need help or have questions. We were really amazed at how friendly and helpful everyone was. I cannot recommend the Bella Vista Stallis highly enough, if you want a pleasant, quiet, comfortable base, close to the facilities and beach, while visiting this part of beautiful Crete.

Family style apartments run by friendly genuine people, with great fresh food and a lovely clean swimming pool, it is the perfect holiday away from the hustle and bustle. It is ideal for families, couples, or even solo travellers, as there is always someone friendly to chat to. The sunrise over the sea is breathtaking, with tree lined mountains all around, the many birds and crickets adding to the peaceful tone... heaven on earth ❤️

Me and my friend stayed here kinda last minute as we messed up some dates on another hotel, didn’t expect much, but it was a family run hotel and the staff were super friendly. The restaurant was homemade food and it was excellent and not expensive. I ordered some drinks at the bar, and having some good conversation with the server he said he liked me and gave me free drinks! Great experience!

Lovely place with beautiful people. Maria the owner was an amazing person and I have no enough good words about her. Mary was great and Rali the best barman. Made us feel like home. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will go back 1000%. Unforgettable memories.

Have just got back from this wonderful place, The owner and staff where amazing and so welcoming the rooms are standard but comfortable. The apartments look over the sea and the pool. Me and my family enjoyed it so much and really was ready to come home. I would put more stars if I could. Thank you for the wonderful time we had.

Everyone here is very friendly and for the money it's very good value, the only downside is that the rooms are quite dated and if you're on the upper levels you'll need to be an able bodied person as there's a lot of steps. All in all though we really enjoyed our stay and its a very short walk to the coast which has all the usual amenities.
