Phenomenal food! The meat came out of the barbacoa as we arrived and tasted amazing. I will definitely be coming back!

The food here is a very interesting combination of of Greek and Mexican flavors. Highly recommend. And more authentic Mexican flavors than many of the Mexican restaurants we have in America yet so far away. Thanks for a great experience!

My friend and I were recommended this place during our two week holiday in Chania. We loved it! The staff were so friendly, and atmosphere was fun. A good menu with some vegan & vegetarian options. We had margaritas, guacamole and a selection of tacos and tostadas. An exciting blend of Mexican cuisine with local Cretan ingredients & herbs. We particularly liked the cactus fruit tostada and vanilla strawberry fish tostada. We also had the mezcal with smokey chili orange and the crispy chocolate balls with cactus fruit and pineapple salsa. All delicious!! Would definitely recommend!

We had a really delicious meal here. The dishes are varied and really celebrate both Mexican and Cretan produce and cuisines. The cocktails were also dangerously drinkable! It's a bit off the main drag for tourists, but well worth the slight detour out of town. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the traditional Greek food on offer in most other places.

Mexican Cretan fusion. Very beautiful and tasty dishes. The oven is recommended. Also the pink Margaritas. Dimitris the owner was very welcome. A beautiful place to eat something different in Chania. The prices are a bit higher but it is totally worth it. I highly recommend it.

Maya Angelou said once: I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. I finally found some time to express my feelings about this place, cause after all this is what this place is all about. From the moment you enter Matzenta you can feel the positive vibes and energy which, in my humble opinion, you can't find anywhere in town. The owner always welcoming and warm, always smiling and positive. Once you enter Matzenta you can feel the teams deep love for both Mexico and Crete, before you even order something to eat or drink. The music, also very carefully selected and not cheesy at all, makes you feel like you are in Caribbean. This atmosphere will keep enlightening the night. And now the time has come to order! After so many times there I am now sure, that the first and the last thing I want to drink here is Margarita. The recipe is simply unbeatable and the bartender knows how to make them right. Starting with the food I always order the shrimp taco's. The combo with the smoked pork is simply amazing. Ceviche and tiradito with traditional mexican taste but with cretan fish. Simply next level. Zarandeado is what I usually order as my main plate. If you don't like seafood you must try the meat from barbacoa oven. I am more a seafood guy, but this meat tastes so sweet. And all of these tastes combined in a such soulful atmosphere full of joy, laughs and love. This is what I feel every time I visit this place and this is why I will always love it and keep coming back over and over again! Thank you for the good times boys and girls! You are all amazing!

I’m traveling in Mexico the last 12 years and I love so much the Mexican cuisine! Since i got the original taste of the Mexican cuisine and visited many Mexican restaurants in Greece I always was disappointed. The problem was that those restaurants are Tex Max restaurants and they have nothing to do with the original Mexican cuisine! Magenta kuzina del Sol is the ultimate original restaurant you could find in all Greece! The menu is just outstanding and even a Mexican person can lose his mind in here! Keep it up guys!!!

We finally visited Matzénta. The place itself is in a quite neighbour of Chania and you might need some time to locate it without a gps. We (me and my wife) both enjoyed the warm smile of the people working there. The music was on spot and the tables nicely placed so you had a sense of privacy. We ordered food and the famous Margaritas from the quite confined but decent menu and they came surprisingly quick. Drinks were great but the food was something that you need to try to understand. I can easily say that I had the best Mexican plates in my life. Everything had a sense of freshness and originality. Nothing to be compared with the typical west places that serve mexican cousine. We are surely going to visit them again soon. If you get there don't miss trying the shrimps taco and the spicy Margarita.
