The fact that there is a restaurant right above the beach comes really handy.
The beach doesn't have sand (only at some places in the sea), but only some pebbles on the shore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place for kids. The restaurant megalos mourtias is refunding the six euro cost of sunbeds if you decide to taste some plates of traditional Greek kitchen.
The food was surprisingly nice and the prices moderate.Would recommend it, would visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great fish tavern next to the sea with beautiful views of Great Mourtias Beach. Maybe ironic but here I enjoy the best stuffed vegetables of my life. Everything else is top also, the salad, the fried pumpkin balls, at last but not least the excellent roasted fish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The road to the beach is narrow and it ends at two private parking lots, owned by the beach bars/taverns that are practically on the beach itself. No vacant space to leave your car without paying to them. The beach itself is not a magnificent one, so skip it and choose another on the island, there are many better to choose from.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best for we had in 8 days on the island in one of the most beautiful beaches! The tuna fish in the oven and the stuffed squimp were very fresh and tasty. The service very polite, quick and also offered us dessert. The prices were very good, best value for money in the whole island.
It's a pity we discovered it in our last day but we will come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am evaluating the restaurant, not the beach. Don't get me wrong, there is two restaurants, Meltemi was wonderful. At the restaurant "mourtias" we had a terrible service. Our group stayed for a long period of time, we had plenty of drinks and wanted to stay at the sunbeds, as we payed for them. We did not want to eat there, but eat at the other tavern, because people on the beach recommended the food. The moment we told them, the waitress mood changed and the people forced us to park the car at the other parking space. So we did, we wanted to pay and the lady ran after us, like we were maniacs and would not pay. Then she did not know the amount we had to pay and got rude. THEREFORE I do not recommend the restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great restaurant next to the beach. We visited the place twice as we loved the food and the view of the sunset. We had fish soup and kritharoto (orzo) with sea food, both dishes were magnificent!! Possibly the best restaurant in the island.
