Merceri food & drink - Iraklidon 21

My husband and I dined here a week ago and had a lovely experience! The food was creative yet authentic and well prepared. We both ordered the margarita and it was the best I’ve ever had and I really don’t like margaritas but ordered one after trying my husbands drink. We asked the chef to pair our food with a bottle of wine and it was an exceptional choice. If you’re in Athens and looking for an authentic meal with a creative twist this is the place to go. The ambiance and decor is also simplistic and modern and wraps up the experience with a nice bow.

We had a great experience in this beautiful restaurant with the staff and owners being all women , warm environment. The food excellent what can I say, it looks not only tasty when they serve it on beautiful plates,it’s an experience!

The food reviews here were very positive, and we were very hopeful for a good experience. At first, the service and the drinks were very good. But somewhere during the meal, it all fell apart. For starters, we ordered the Burrata and the Tuna carpaccio. The Burrata tasted as though it had spent some time being stored badly - instead of the creaminess that comes from cutting into fresh burrata, the inside of the cheese had become curdled and set. This made the cheese quite sour - which would be fine if it's the only dish that's a problem (burrata is a tricky cheese), but the tuna carpaccio also had an aftertaste of fish that had begun to turn in the heat. For mains, we had ordered the lamb special at €24, and a traditional Greek salad. These arrived an hour after the starters, and you really had the sense that our table had been forgotten. I am a Greek speaker, but because we were speaking English at the table, I had ordered in English - and I just had the distinct impression that we were forgotten because of this. The other Greek-speaking tables looked like they received a level of service that was simply different. As for the lamb - it was pleasant and well-cooked, but dull. I'm not afraid to pay for a dish, but the minute I start actively thinking about "value for money", I know that I'm in a restaurant that has fallen really far below expectations. I hope that we just caught it on an off day. But an hour delay for a disappointing special of the day is really quite unforgivable.

What a pleasant surprise in the heart of Athens. We weren’t expecting that at all. Delicious plates extremely harmonized and balanced. A variety of great Greek products used in the best way in order to meet your umami expectations. A big plus on the raw fish selection as well as the main plates. We are definitely going back to try some more as we missed the cocktails and other menu selections (!!!) A very cozy & relaxing space indoor and outdoor. The staff was more than friendly and the chef herself a true charm. Out of the question for the suspicious ones, to visit this place!!!

Excellent food, everything we tried was delicious! We only had fish dishes, but will definitely return to try the meat dishes and the brunch menu. The staff was lovely and so was the atmosphere. Well done! (The parsnip soup is to die for!!)

An amazing experience embraced by female power and creation! Humble chefs and staff provide extremely beautifully crafted plates and wine pairing experience. We will go again and again and again. Also brunch seems super attractive. Highly recommended!

One of the best meals I've had in Athens! The menu was very versatile - I do not eat meat and there were so many delicious fresh fish dishes and salads to begin, with a choice of differently and perfectly prepared fish for my main course. For meat eaters, I bet the meat is absolutely delicious too! The service was excellent. We were guided in what wine to select that matched perfectly to our meal. The dessert was by far the best part! I couldn't speak more highly about the experience - I loved it.

Quite frankly, remarkable. A discrete neighbourhood restaurant that delivered dish after dish to an outstanding quality. All women workforce (or should that be powerhouse), Marilena and Yiota were charming and attentive on the restaurant floor whilst the two chefs quietly did their thing. Their collective experience in established restaurants elsewhere didn’t go unnoticed. Utterly delicious, a joy, I hope you find yourselves wandering past or even calling ahead to book in advance.
