★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Το μνημείο αυτό είναι προς τιμή του Χαράλαμπου Βιλαέτη, του σημαντικότερου αγωνιστή της Ηλείας κατά την επανάσταση του 1821. Στο σημείο αυτό έγινε μεγάλη μάχη ανάμεσα στους Έλληνες και στους Τουρκαλβανούς του Λάλα.
Οι Έλληνες δεν κατάφεραν να νικήσουν αλλά θυσιάστηκαν ηρωικά για την πατρίδα. Το μνημείο έχτισε προς τιμή τους ο πρώην Δήμος Ωλένης, ο οποίος πλέον εντάσετε στον Δήμο Πύργου. Το μνημείο βρίσκεται έξω από το χωριό Λατζόιο, κοντά στα σύνορα με το χωριό Ηράκλεια.
This monument is in honor of Charalambos Vilaetis, the most important fighter of Ilia during the revolution of 1821. At this point a great battle took place between the Greeks and the Turkish-Albanians of Lala.
The Greeks failed to defeat but were heroically sacrificed for their homeland. The monument was built by former Oleni Municipality, which is now in the Municipality of Pyrgos. The monument is located outside the village of Lazio, near the border with the village Iraklia.
