Stunning is located in the cave deep in the top of the mountain. You are in awe looking at the image of the Virgin Mary, you feel closer to the Goddesses. It has an incredible view, you can see down the plains and the coastal villages of Naxos Kastraki, Pyrgaki Agiasso, as well as opposite Paros !! It is worth visiting the Monastery of Kaloritsa!

Delusione
I wanted to visit the ruoestre church because I was interested in seeing the frescoes in person, which closely recall some present in a church in Puglia (San Pietro in Crepacore in Torre Santa Susanna, in the Brindisi area). However, before we arrived, several rather aggressive large dogs prevented our passage. Disappointment

Steep and stony path and once you arrive all the beauty to see is held by a padlock on a closed gate, impossible to see. It was enough in the indications to report it first so that people know it and decide accordingly whether to do that hard work!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walk up through a farmer's field at the signs for Kaloritsa next to the Tower. It's about a 15 minute hike up to an incredible gem. Check out the cave monestary with ancient frescoes that's obviously sometimes still in use.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Start from the sign and walk on the field along the outer perimeter of the stone wall. Follow the red marks on the ground after the path crosses the stone wall. They will lead you the rest of the way to the Monastery. Remember good shoes.
