g	geo scorpio on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Ιερά Μονή της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου Παναγία Γριβιτσιανή – Άγιοι Θεόδωροι βρίσκεται λίγο βόρεια από το χωριό Χωματερό. Κατά πάσα πιθανότητα ιδρύθηκε στα τέλη του 12ου - αρχές 13ου αιώνα. Ενώ μια σημαντική περίοδος της μονής υπήρξε στα τέλη του 16ου και αρχές του 17ου αιώνα. Το όνομά της ίσως προέρχεται από το γεγονός πως η μονή είναι κρυμμένη σε μια χαράδρα ( Κρύβω - Κρυβιτσιανή - Γριβιτσιανή) ενώ το δεύτερο όνομα ( Άγιοι Θεόδωροι) το πήρε με τον ερχομό ατόμων από την Αλωνίσταινα στην περιοχή, καθώς αποτελούσαν προστάτες τους. Το μοναστήρι περιβαλλόταν από τείχος με πολεμίστρες για προφύλαξη από τις εχθρικές επιθέσεις. Η πρόσβαση είναι εύκολη από το χωριό. Μέχρι ένα σημείο η πρόσβαση είναι εύκολη με το αυτοκίνητο αλλά τα τελευταία μέτρα( στη διασταύρωση στα χωράφια) καλύτερα να γίνουν με τα πόδια. ( 5 λεπτά διαδρομή). Σίγουρα η μονή θα πρέπει να τύχει συντήρησης. Το μόνο κακό είναι πως ήταν κλειδωμένο το καθολικό και έτσι δεν είδαμε τις υπέροχες αγιογραφίες για τις οποίες είχαμε ακούσει. Ίσως αν ρωτήσετε στο χωριό κάποιος να έχει τα κλειδιά και να μπορεί να σας βοηθήσει. The Holy Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Panagia Grivitsiani - Agioi Theodoroi is located just north of the village of Chomatero. It was probably founded in the late 12th - early 13th century. While an important period of the monastery existed in the late 16th and early 17th century. Its name may come from the fact that the monastery is hidden in a ravine (Krivo - Krivitsiani - Grivitsiani) while the second name (Agioi Theodoroi) got its name when people from Alonistaina came to the area, as they were their protectors. The monastery was surrounded by a wall with loopholes to protect it from enemy attacks. Access is easy from the village. Up to a point access is easy by car but the last steps (at the crossroads in the fields) are best done on foot. (5 minutes journey). Definitely the monastery should be maintained. The only bad thing is that the katholikon was locked and so we did not see the wonderful hagiographies we had heard about. Maybe if you ask in the village someone has the keys and can help you.

E	Eva Celakovska on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is approximately 15 minutes away from the village ( by walk). When you reach the place you will find really beautiful church with nice atmosphere. We had opportunity to go inside the church and it was amazing.

It is in the middle of almost the road that previously connected Chomatero with the village Mystraki. On the right and left of the road, the estates of the inhabitants of Chomatero, which once belonged to the Monastery, spread out. The monastery is built in a ravine that forms two accessible hills next to a small river.
