If you are interested in the history of this place, you should definitely pay it a visit. So I advise you to read some information concerning the ancient rituals at nekromanteion before getting there. Otherwise, the place provides enough information. I personally loved it, because I was always keen on symbolisms of death at mythology and ancient lore.

The visit has a main route and a secondary route. The secondary route is very graphical surrounded by beautiful nature.

A very nice experience but it was rather small for the price we paid. The person at the ticket booth refused the card payment, wanted only cash. It would be nice if they gave us some kind of brochure we could read as we went along the exhibits and to keep afterwards. The staff inside the site were very helpful and polite, ready to answer all our questions. Overall was a nice experience but it needs more attention by adding more explanatory signs and providing people with leaflets that actually refer to the history of the site and the mythology behind it. Visitors would appreciate it.

Small site, but very significant. Ancient Greeks built an amazing site. This is VERY old, as you can tell from the cyclopean polygan stone walls. The Greeks believed you had to be cautious when dealing with the shades of the dead. So there is a small maze, to keep the shades in- and mental preparation was required. Amazing site, so glad the Underground Temple endured!

Interesting historical place if you're in the area, but I wouldn't travel just to see it.

Nicely preserved site with a majestic view over the valley Acheron river crosses. Could be better with some new info signage! Ticket price is 6 euro (08/2021) and you also can visit Efyra open site on the other side of the hill

Beautiful site. Not very large, but so nice and well kept. Enjoyed every minute of it! Parking is a bit far and you walk up a pedestrian street.
