★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unreliable. Most of the bikes get taken by the schoolkids and are heavily vandalised. The machines also often dont work. The card also gets blocked without notification. Nobody really takes charge of these bikes and most of them are in horrible condition. You cant ride far with them. Uncomfortable. Also, only 3 hours at a time is not really enough. Chanias old town is not made for biking, so the bikes were meant for long distances. 3 hours doesent do anything if you want to ride further away to Agios Apostoli or so. Also the bikes cannot be locked once you took them out of the socket.
Often I brought back the bike and the machine does not recognize it. Then you have to call up the number, a guy who sits in Athens replies... There is nobody really tending to this and I dont understand its purpose. I prefer to get my own bike.
