★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η εικόνα της Παναγίας Μυρτιδιώτισσας έχει βρεθεί στα Κύθηρα μέσα σε Μυρτιές εξ ου και το όνομα της. Σύμφωνα με την παράδοση εμφανίστηκε η Παναγία στον ύπνο κάποιων ψαράδων του χωριού Βελανίδια στα Βάτικα Λακωνίας και ζήτησε να φτιάξουν εκκλησία στο χωριό αυτό, πράγμα που έγινε, επειδή βλέπει προς το Αιγαίο πέλαγος και η Παναγία προστατεύει τους ναυτικούς σε όλα τα πελάγη.
 The icon of Panagia Myrtidiotissa has been found in Kythira in Myrties, hence its name. According to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared in the sleep of some fishermen of the village of Velanidia in Vatika, Laconia and asked to build a church in this village, which happened because she faces the Aegean Sea and the Virgin Mary protects sailors in all seas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στις 22 Απριλίου του 2022 η περιφορά του Επιταφίου δεν έγινε όπως συνηθίζεται γύρω από το μεγάλο συγκρότημα των σχολείων αλλά ίσα ίσα μέχρι την Πυθαγόρα και έστριψε εκεί. Τρία τετράγωνα όλα κι όλα.
On April 22, 2022 the procession of the Epitaph did not take place as usual around the large complex of schools but just as far as Pythagoras and turned there. Three blocks all in all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Εκπληκτικά όμορφη εκκλησία,οι αγιογραφίες της είναι το κάτι άλλο,ωραια τοποθεσία,πολύ μεγάλο προαύλιο χώρο,το μόνο αρνητικό είναι το πάρκινγκ....!!!
Surprisingly beautiful church, its paintings are something else, nice location, very large courtyard space, the only negative is the parking .... !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στον ναό βρέθηκα πρόσφατα στις 30/04/2022 με την αφορμή πρόσκλησης σε γάμο. Το περιβάλλον, οργανωμένο, καθαρό και κατανυκτικό εσωτερικά κι εξωτερικά του ναού.
Περιμετρικά του ναού ο κεντρικός δρόμος παρουσίασε αυξημένη κίνηση, δεδομένου ότι ήταν ημέρα Σάββατο.
Απέναντι από το ναό βρίσκεται η αίθουσα δεξιώσεων ΑΡΙΩΝ όπου έγινε το παραδοσιακό τραπέζι του γάμου. Η επιχείρηση διαθέτει φυλασσόμενο πάρκινγκ. Έφυγα ικανοποιημένος από την εξυπηρέτηση.
I was recently in the temple on 30/04/2022 on the occasion of a wedding invitation. The environment, organized, clean and all night inside and outside the temple.
The main road around the temple showed increased traffic, as it was Saturday.
Opposite the temple is the ARION ballroom where the traditional wedding table took place. The company has guarded parking. I left satisfied with the service.
