Ο ναός θεμελιωθηκε το 1852 και είναι αφιερωμένος στο ένα κλιτος στα Εισόδεια της Θεοτόκου (21 Νοεμβρίου) και στο άλλο στον Άγιο Χαράλαμπο (10 Φεβρουαρίου). Λέγεται ότι κτίστηκε από ντόπιους κατοίκους της περιοχής.
The metropolitan temple of the semi-mountainous picturesque village of Kritsa in Lassithi at a relatively close distance from Agios Nikolaos. The temple was founded in 1852 and is dedicated to one cave at The Presentation of the Virgin Mary (November 21) and the other at Saint Charalambos (February 10). It is said to have been built by locals of the area.

On the way to Matala, I saw an extremely beautiful Byzantine monastery. On the outside it had many flowers and inside there were many icons dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

A nice 19th-century church, it is worth seeing the icons inside and looking for the Mother of God feeding (a rare sight). In addition, swallows fly around the church, a beautiful sight.
