★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This winery is worth to visit , it’s not promoted and not touristic , but awesome grape varieties and tasty wines are making Papaioannou Estate so unique!
Our choice was Lyric Papaioannou - Roussanne variety , very rare find in Greece - peach and honey , soft acidity
Hope to be back to extend our experience !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rated 5 stars for the wines, which all range from very good to exceptional! Teroir probably the best vinification of agiorgitiko in Nemea. Prices are also exceptionally good for what you really take home - that is some of the best wines of the region. The place is outdated, old and not oriented to visitors - but this shall not stop you from visiting! You can have a nice discussion with Thanassis Papaioannou if he is around. He is the founder, now in his late 80's but still more than capable of transmitting his deep knowledge for vines and wine making.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owner's son gave a great tour and spoke good enough English. We found the winery simple, yet very interesting. You must see the barrel room. We were there in Oct’2017 and the grapes were being crushed. I recommend visiting while on the Nemea Wine Road". Try the 2010 Old Vines.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The winery is not much into tourists, but the quality of the production is exceptional.
On my visit I've hardly explained I'm interested in wine tasting to the man who seemed not to understand English, then he let me into the tasting room and just left. There were about 12-15 samples, all ranged from good to superb. I was truly impressed. And the price is reasonable (especially whites which are truly bargain).
If you visit or just pass by Nemea - I definitely recommend to make a stay here and taste these wonderful wines!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit if you are a wine lover. One of the top wineries in Greece. Amazing location at the heart of Ancient Nemea, amazing wine, very friendly people and... did I mention that they make amazing wine? ?
And you can close your day by visiting the ancient temple and museum that are just 500m away!
