Se han desenterrado las ruinas del Templo de Zeus, del S.IV a.C, levantado sobre las ruinas de uno anterior del que sólo se conserva uno de los muros. Es un templo dórico períptero hexástilo, pero con columnas de orden jónico y corintio. El altar está al este del templo y es enorme, larguísimo, pues tenían que hacer muchos sacrificios: preparaban la carne para los dioses y el ágape para la gente. Tenía una estatua de Zeus en el centro. Debajo estaba el oráculo local. Cada ciudad tenía el suya propio, pero el más importante era el de Delfos. Cuando Pausanias visitó Nemea al principio del S.II, el santuario ya estaba en ruinas: «El techo del templo de Zeus Nemeo estaba hundido y ya no tenía imagen». Σαν Ελληνίδα νιώθω ευγνωμοσύνη για τους καθηγητές Stephen Miller και Kim Shelton που αφιέρωσαν το μεράκι τους και το πάθος τους στο έργο αυτό, περηφάνια για τους Νεμεάτες που δούλεψαν για την πραγμάτωση και τους Έλληνες μηχανικούς (Κατερίνα Σκλήρη, Κώστα Ζάρμπα, Νίκο Μακρή, Κώστα Παπαντωνόπουλο) και μακάρι να δούμε και την συνέχεια στην αναστήλωση! Impressive restoration of the Temple in a magnificent location. As a Greek woman, I am grateful to Professors Stephen Miller and Kim Shelton for their dedication and passion in this work, proud of the Nemeans who worked for the realization and the Greek engineers (Katerina Skliri, Costas Zarubon, Niko Makapan ) and I wish we could see the rest of the restoration!

Στα αρχαϊκά χρόνια χρονολογείται ο πρώτος ναός του Δία και οι δύο πρώτες φάσεις του Ηρώου. Στον 5ο π.Χ. αιώνα κατασκευάζονται οι εννέα οίκοι-θησαυροί. Στα τέλη του 4ου π.Χ. αιώνα, στο πλαίσιο ενός μεγάλου οικοδομικού προγράμματος κτίζονται ο νεώτερος ναός του Διός, το λουτρό, ο ξενώνας, το Στάδιο και η τρίτη φάση του Ηρώου. This community was destroyed by the Slavic invasion in 580-590 AD.
