They are old baths of the Ottoman period, we will find them as phoenix baths or pasha baths. It is located in Andrea Kalvou in Thessaloniki.

It is unacceptable for such a monument of the city to function today (2021) as a warehouse of the Tax Office of Antiquities and to remain unknown and hidden among the remnants of the urbanization of the 60's.

Το κτίριο βρίσκεται στη συμβολή των σημερινών οδών Πηνειού, Κάλβου και Π.Καρατζά, κοντά στο Ναό των Αγίων Αποστόλων.Κτίστηκε στη δεκαετία 1520-1530 από τον Τζεζερί-ζαντέ Κοτζά Κασίμ πασά, έναν από τους βεζύρηδες των σουλτάνων Βαγιαζίτ Β΄ και Σελίμ Α΄, που διορίστηκε διοικητής της Θεσσαλονίκης όταν ανέβηκε στο θρόνο ο Σουλεϊμάν ο Α΄ ο Μεγαλοπρεπής. Στο ίδιο χρονικό διάστημα, ο Κασίμ πασάς μετέτρεψε την εκκλησία των Αγίων Αποστόλων σε τέμενος. Αρχικά επρόκειτο για απλό λουτρό με την κλασική αρχιτεκτονική διάταξη ενώ αργότερα λειτούργησε ως διπλό (μετά τις αναγκαίες προσθήκες). Το νέο τμήμα προοριζόταν για τους άνδρες, ενώ το αρχικό για τις γυναίκες. Το 1977 απαλλοτριώθηκε από το ελληνικό Δημόσιο και λειτούργησε έως το 1981 με την ονομασία Λουτρά Φοίνιξ, οπότε και σταμάτησε καθώς οι εγκαταστάσεις του κρίθηκαν επικίνδυνες. Σήμερα, αφού προηγήθηκαν εργασίες συντήρησης και αποκατάστασης, λειτουργεί ως χώρος για τη συντήρηση των αρχαιολογικών ευρημάτων που ανακαλύπτονται κατά τις εργασίες του Μετρό Θεσσαλονίκης . The Phoenix Baths (or Pasha Hamam) (Turkish: Pasha Hamam), are old baths (hamams) of the Ottoman period in Thessaloniki. The building is located at the junction of today's Piniou, Kalvou and P. Karatza streets, near the Church of the Holy Apostles. It was built in the decade 1520-1530 by Jezeri-zante Kotza Kasim Pasha, one of the viziers of Sultans Bayezid II and Selim A. Or, who was appointed governor of Thessaloniki when Suleiman the Magnificent ascended the throne. At the same time, Qasim Pasha turned the church of the Holy Apostles into a mosque. Initially it was a simple bathroom with the classic architectural layout while later it functioned as a double (after the necessary additions). The new section was intended for men, while the original section was for women. In 1977 it was expropriated by the Greek State and operated until 1981 under the name Phoenix Baths, when it stopped as its facilities were deemed dangerous. Today, after maintenance and restoration work, it functions as a site for the preservation of the archaeological finds discovered during the work of the Thessaloniki Metro.

Κρίμα που δεν αξιοποιούνται τέτοια μνημεία και δεν είναι επισκέψιμο. Στη Θεσσαλονίκη θα έπρεπε να λειτουργεί τουλάχιστον ένα Οθωμανικό χαμάμ ™ ✓ Pasha hamam old Ottoman hamam. It was built 1520-30. It operated until 1981 and today it is used as a warehouse of antiquities. Tremble that does not use such monuments and is not visited. In Thessaloniki, at least one Ottoman Turkish bath ✓ should operate

J	Jacob LED on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a shame to see Ottoman heritage devastated and let rotten in this beautiful city. These buildings should be preserved and well saved to the history, culture and architectures sake. The are of this hamam is in the inner walls of the old town of Thessaloniki. The walls are amazingly preserved and will probably survive another 1000 years. This hamam is in a neighborhood which is not safe at nights. The building is probably very worth to see from inside, but from outside it seems pretty devastated and let by itself. There is a plastic chair in front of it's door but I couldn't see anybody. All outer fence doors are locked. Walking around the fences at the backyard of the hamam I saw some trucks and vagon like in a trailer park and someone is collecting scrubs. Sad, really sad to see these buildings rotten.
