Στο εν λόγω κρηπίδωμα υπάρχουν 4 θέσεις πρυμνοδέτησης και μία θέση πλεύρισης ή εναλλακτικά 3 θέσεις πλεύρισης (για την εξυπηρέτηση κυρίως των κρουαζιεροπλοίων). Υπάρχει δυνατότητα πλεύρισης κρουαζιεροπλοίων με βύθισμα έως 9 μέτρα με τοποθέτηση ειδικής κατασκευής. Η λεκάνη του επιβατικού λιμένα παρέχει επαρκή χώρο και βάθος για τους ελιγμούς των επιβατικών πλοίων και είναι καλά προστατευμένη, με κυματοθραύστη, από τις καιρικές συνθήκες (άνεμοι, κυματισμοί, κλπ) παρέχοντας ασφαλή ελλιμενισμό των πλοίων. Η επιβατική κίνηση εξυπηρετείται από σύγχρονο επιβατικό σταθμό που απέχει 500 μ. από το κέντρο της πόλης. Ο επιβατικός σταθμός «Μακεδονία», ο οποίος λειτουργεί 24ώρες την ημέρα, 7 ημέρες την εβδομάδα, στεγάζεται σε ισόγειο τμήμα νεοκλασικού κτιρίου στην είσοδο του λιμένος και εξυπηρετεί τους επιβάτες των επιβατικών-οχηματαγωγών πλοίων, ιπταμένων δελφινιών και κρουαζιεροπλοίων. The Thessaloniki passenger port, located between piers 1 and 2, features a 400-meter long platform with an 8-meter draft. In this platform there are 4 sailing posts and one sailing post or alternatively 3 sailing posts (mainly for cruise ships). It is possible to cruise ships with a draft of up to 9 meters with special construction. The basin of the passenger port provides sufficient space and depth for maneuvering of passenger ships and is well protected, with breakwater, from the weather (winds, ripples, etc.) providing safe landing of ships. Passenger traffic is served by a modern passenger station 500 meters from the city center. The Macedonian Railway Station, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is housed in a ground floor neoclassical building at the port's entrance and serves passengers of passenger ferries, flying dolphins and cruise ships.

V	VASILEIOS K. PAPADOPOULOS on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Σίγουρα το μέρος χρειάζεται ανακαίνηση . Κάποτε αυτά τα κτήρια πρέπει να εκσυγχρονιστούν. Αλλά τώρα έτσι κι αλλιώς δεν μας ανήκουν. Τα έχουμε ξεπουλήσει σε άλλους λες και μας ανοίκαν δικαιοματικά. Δεν καταλάβαμε ότι δεν τα κληρονομίσαμε από τους πατεράδες μας αλλά ότι τα δανειστήκαμε από τα παιδιά μας. Definitely the place needs renovation. Sometimes these buildings need to be modernized. But now they don't belong to us anyway. We have sold them to others as if they were justifying us. We did not realize that we did not inherit them from our fathers, but that we borrowed them from our children.

Είναι το πρώτο κτίριο με σκυρόδεμα που χτίστηκε στην πόλη και δυστυχώς μεγάλο μέρος του είναι εγκαταλελειμμένο. Ο επιβατικος σταθμός όμως είναι σύγχρονος και καλύπτοει τις απαιτήσεις της συνθήκης Schengen και του κώδικα ISPS. It is housed in a small part of the huge building that once housed the Rainer industry. It is the first concrete building built in the city and unfortunately much of it is abandoned. The passenger station, however, is modern and meets the requirements of the Schengen agreement and the ISPS code.
