★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is great experience to visit the cave and the museum. Our guide Grigori explained a lot for the cave an the proces of creating the stlagmites and stalactites. About the animals and humans using the cave as a shalter rather than home. Its temperature is 17 degrees celsius during the whole year. You wont regret the visit of the cave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting and informative, the cave is absolutely impressive, another proof of the mother nature greatness.
Be prepared for two types of fees: one for the auto train, this is for transport to and back from the cave 2€ for adults, 1 € for children; the second one is the vistor fee -8 € for adults and free for kids. Seniors have the cave entrance fee discounted 50%, but they should present the ID card in order to get this discount.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cave is spectacular enough, with stalacmites and stalactites. You can visit it walking vertically at ease. Only some points are a little tight or slippery. Still, you don't get muddy. It's not so cold, like 17 Celsius, anyway take an extra coat. There is also a small museum to visit in the same price - for me was 8 Euro. It takes like 15 minutes to finish the cave, similar for the museum.
You should leave the car down in a parking - when the cave is signaled to the right, parking is on the left. Then you can walk 10 minutes or take a small train on wheels that costed 2 Euro turn and return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cave is very beautiful and attractive. It Is like Indiana Jones movie. But our tour guardian (as she calls herself) was rushing us to finish the tour in 20 min. Increase they don't offer any kind of guides unless you pay 100€ for a private one. So that's why the visit was like sheep crossing a mountain road - in silence, no permission for questions or photos. Pity!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Short (10 minutes tour), expensive, crowded, the employees enforcing a no photos rule (w or w/o flash) without an obvious reason. But beautiful, safe, with a scenery view to remember in front of the cave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited the Petralona Cave in July 2018. It has since closed for renovations, anticipate until Dec 2021!
An adventure getting there (no direct bus), over an hr uphill walk. It took us less than an hour to tour the entire cave... Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job answering all our questions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ OK so it is closed for a few years. The area still has natural beauty. You can drive up to the cave entrance for a great view of Mt Olympus and the sea. There is an excellent rock paved path ( EU funded) to the peak of the mountain that Petralona cave is under.
