★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Racist against Asians. Extremely poor service, as if they didn't want any Asians there, and also made all Asian groups pay in advance (while white people were allowed to pay at the end of the meal). Stay away!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A welcome respite from the heat! No one will bother you while you rest here and gather up the strength for more sightseeing, and have a nice cool drink. Reasonable prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly and conveniently located. Great beer prices, outdoor seating, free WiFi, coffee and wine available as well and there’s a yogurt bar. We hung out there twice when trying to get our acropolis tour incomplete. Thanks Tripmasters and Skip the Line Acropolis Museum Tours for rescheduling the time and never notifying us but at least Platka’s Gate Cafe was a reprove from the disaster of Tripmasters and Skip the Line Museum Tours(DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just stopped off for a much needed drink on the way to the hotel. Found them friendly, welcoming, good value for a place like Athens. I would just like to say that I and my partner were also asked to pay in advance. I do not feel that this practice is anything personal or a slight at anyone, simply groups and travellers. I originally was a little taken back by this, but feel I can understand the reason why, and frankly I would pay as I get a beer in the local pub, so why not here? A nice port of call.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 3 people were forced to order something, despite the fact that I ordered coffee and paid for the table service. Waitress was very not kind and complained that we stayed at that place - even I paid for the table service. Stayed for few minutes - finishing my coffee which was without ordered water.
After all the waiter was more kind, but overall experience is definitely bad. Do not recommend.
