★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our second visit in Athens in 2 years and our second experience at Hi-Fai in Kolonaki area. 1st experience confirmed, a worth trying simple grill restaurant with excellent quality, quantity and fair prices! Also people are so nice. Definitely recommend their grilled Halloumi, Feta with honey and sesame and of cours Souvlaki in any form ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came right at opening time with 7 people. The food tasted great, serving was quick, the waiter was really nice and the dessert was on the house! They even gave us direcrions to a good place to have coffee at. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was alright, but otherwise, a really bad experience. Let me tell you about it: The waiter welcomed us by presenting the menu to us (literally reading prices out loud).
We took a table, we went through the menu again and then we ordered the food. AFTER it arrived the waiter gave us the most common excuse in Greece: “our card machine is broken”. Let me translate this for you - it means “I want you to pay cash so that I can commit tax fraud”.
Later, when the bill came, we noticed the prices we were supposed to pay didn’t match the menu. Each item had an extra 0.50-1.50 EUR. When asked, the waiter said “yes… they are higher”, I asked “why tho?”, and he answered “well… you know… war in Ukraine…”, as if I was crazy asking, just like it’s common sense to be charged 39 EUR for a 30 EUR bill without any notice whatsoever…
Ridiculous scammer-like behavior. Shame on you for tricking tourists!
