Full of noisy boisterous tropical parrots. Since they're not indigenous, how on earth did they get here? And there's lots of them!

Beautiful park, with amazing open spaces and lots of trees. The meadow there is full of birds and, If you're lucky, you might encounter a flock of green parrots.

A green area for relaxation that was added to the few oases of green in the city is the Rizari Park which opened for the Athenians in 2010. It was donated to the Greek state in 1844 by the benefactor and member of the Filiki Eteria Georgios Rizaris. During the works for the reshaping of the park, which lasted for many years, in the area of 15,000 m2 they planted “Mediterranean” trees and bushes, paths were shaped, sculptures were places and benches were added. In the future the park will be unified with the one of the Byzantine Museum and the area of the Lyceum of Aristotle.

My next door park. Visiting at least twice a day while dog walking. Clean, well taken care of, a proper place for relaxing on the grass under the shade of the trees on a hot summer day. You can also find the "euaggelismos" metro station on one side. No many places to get something to drink close by, so plan ahead. Most place require 10-15 min walk to get a nice coffee etc. Next to it you have the War museum, the Byzantine museum and Euaggelismos hospital. Also a 800 space secure parking is available next to it if you plan to visit the very centre of Athens

People think that as long as their pets take a dump on grass, they should leave it there, and nature will take care of it. Well, that said, you can imagine your shoes after a stroll in that park... Too bad

It's a shame that such a big park at the very centre of Athens, has no lighting. Otherwise it looks great in the morning, due to the number of sculptures it has.
