Στα χρόνια του Αδριανού (100-150 μ.Χ.) εκτελείται ένα εκτεταμένο πρόγραμμα ανακαίνισης του Θεάτρου που του έδωσε την μορφή που διατηρεί έως σήμερα. Η αρχαιολογική έρευνα τοποθετεί το θέατρο στο οικοδομικό πρόγραμμα του αυτοκράτορα Αυγούστου. The Roman Theater of Nikopolis is located at the southern foot of the sacred hill of Apollo, a short distance NE of the Stadium. In the years of Hadrian (100-150 AD) an extensive program of renovation of the Theater is carried out which gave it the form it maintains to this day. Archaeological research places the theater on the building program of Emperor Augustus.
