Royal Octopus Dive Center - Kato Kolimpari

Good but… Well… very much depends on what kind of diver you are and how many dive places you have seen… Royal Octopus is the only dive center I found in Kolumbari area and diving around Crete is not comparable with Red Sea or Thailand… only a few fish and no corals at all… First of all: everybody was very friendly, warm and welcoming… Due to the Mediterranean mentality “time” seems to be relative… I was told to calculate 3 hours for two dives, so I calculated 4 hours and ended up with 7 hours total time which is ok if you don’t have the family waiting for you… ? I was picked up in the hotel but than it took about 2 hours before we left to the diving spot as some people were doing a course (PADI Video)… about 25 minute drive to a very nice spot. The first dive included two tunnels… ok but not overwhelming… Second dive went into some caves which was quite nice! In general I would say that I’ve used both dives to fresh up my skills and although the instructors were both very kind I was not totally happy due to the long time spent for the day, what was not calculated in our planing and due to the fact that the dives only included a 0,5 liter bottle of drinking water and a sealed chocolate croissant… This was honestly not enough… diving on a day with hot sun and 34*C would need far more to keep the body fresh… Compared with other diving centers where you are offered a complete meal and unlimited drinking water this for sure can be improved…

The experienced staff, with very good equipment will provide you with a great underwater tour!

Very nice people. We felt very safe with good equipment and a few instructors always around us while diving. Easy to communicate with (using WhatsApp) to arrange the dive.

all around amaizing, very friendly staff, professional equipment, it was my first time and i felt really comfortable. i tough that it would be hard seeing as i am a child but it was very easy and soooo much funnnn? great visibility and perfect experience ???

A really good diving center. Good and new equipement. Best educated Guides, all aktive Navy divers. Short intructions, really helpfully (I wasn‘t allowed to carry my equipement) and smart. The caves is my favourite dive spot, even in the afternoon when the light is perfect. Though we had rough sea, they really took care about my 16year old son an me (;-) We always felt safe. Thanks to all !

I went diving with Panos and his team and it was an amazing experience. The team is super friendly, helpfull and very open about the expectations what we would see during the 2 dives. We drove by car to the dive spot (a little nice beach 10 minutes away), with a nice quite walk in to the water. We dove through tunnels and into caves which made up for the lack of big marine life & Panos even took some pictures of us during the dive. I can highly recommend the royal octopus dive center. Thanks for the amazing day.

First time diving, and decided to give these guys a try. They were amazing, from start to finish. Very friendly, good customer service and good communication (over WhatsApp). They helped calm me down even when I was nervous at the start of my dive. Saw some amazing marine life and took some nice pictures too. George and Panos made it worthwhile. Try them out and thank me later!
