Wir waren mit dem Service und der Abwicklung grundsätzlich zufrieden. Allerdings waren die angebotenen Kindersitze, insbesondere einer, wirklich uralt (wirklich schon unter Vintage zu verbuchen) und entsprachen bestimmt nicht aktuellen Sicherheits Standards. Auf unsere Nachfrage hin gab es leider auch keine Alternative. Wir sind trotzdem mit den 2 Sitzen rumgefahren und zum Glück ist nichts passiert. Wer da anspruchsvoll ist und mit Kindern reist, dem können wir das aber nicht wirklich empfehlen...

Its a worst place go rent

I had no problem with renting a car here. Office employees were kind and helpful. Car was clean and in good condition.

- Friendly, spontaneous and on the spot - On sunday evening my 2 friends and I decided to go on a hike at Samaria Gorge - of course we didn´t have anything planned or booked yet. As we arrived at 9:30 PM in Paleochora we had heard it´s best to book at least the transport (Bus to Starting Point and Ship back) in advance. Even online this is impossible on a sunday night. So we went into town and landed at SABINE TRAVEL - they immediately offered us 3 tickets for transportation, bus and ship for 35 Euros each. We started our trip at 7:30 AM sharp the next morning and ended it with a ship ride at 5:30 PM from Agia Roumeli back to Paleochora. It was a blast they could help us out so quickly! T H A N K S!

One star is too many for Sabine Travel (affiliate of Hermes RentACar) in Paleochora, Crete. First let me qualify this negative review by acknowledging Mr. Papadogiannakis lame excuses in response to my wife’s previous review. He claims that by (my) driving his rental car 20 km after the clutch failed, justified charging me for the auto parts required for the clutch’s repair (he “graciously” agreed not to charge for the mechanic’s labor LOL). What understandably he left unsaid was his explicit blackmail: until I paid him EUR 180 for auto parts, he would not provide a replacement car, nor would he refund the EUR 200 owed me for the 4 days remaining on my original rental contract. This forced my wife and I to finish our 2 week holiday on foot and pay EUR 85 for a taxi to take us to the airport. I’m sympathetic to small business owners, if Papadogiannakis can be classified as one - given his fleet of +40 rental cars, 16-room hotel, wholesale vegi export and hectares of olive trees. But as a small business owner myself, I believe my most valuable asset is my own integrity: treating clients as I want to be treated. If there is a silver lining in this unpleasant ordeal, it was a lesson in practicing forgiveness. I forgave Mr.Papadogiannakis because despite not refunding money that was owed and trying to extort money for his car’s repair, my wife and I were having a wonderful holiday and were not going to let the actions of one greedy business owner spoil our final days in Paleochora. My wife and I will definitely be back for more Cretan sun, surf and hospitality - but steer clear of Sabine Travel. I recommend you to do the same.

Keep away from that dealer. Dishonest, friendly only when everything goes well otherwise absolute unpleasant. We arrived at 23.00 at the airport, picked up the car (rented for 14 days) and drove down to Paleochora. From the beginning, the car had a problem with the clutch, but we didn't pay so much attention to it. 4 days before our departure, the clutch broke. Sabine travel didn't had a replacement car, everything was rented out. So they dumped the problem on us of not having a car. And at the end, they blamed us for the problem with the car (my husband is driving since he is 16), and were so "generous", that we "only" had to pay EUR 170.- instead of the full amount of the repair !!!! From their side, it was only shaming, blaming, accusing, no customer service and finally they suggested that we should participate in an insurance fraud, so they would get money from the insurance. We refused. At the end, for 4 days no car, no help, and we had to pay a taxi to go to the airport. So, no more business with this company. Bad bad bad business !!!!!!!
