We were quite apprehensive about finding a reliable, trustworthy car rental company, as before our holiday we read a lot of reviews with other car rental companies scamming their customers! However, we were SO INCREDIBLY lucky and happy to have found Hermes Car Rental. Family run car rental company in the heart of Kissamos, they were all incredibly lovely and helpful. Apart from their amazing rates, new cars and perfect service, they were also there to help us when we really needed them! There were 5 of us with big luggage, and we were struggling to find a taxi / company with big enough vehicles to take us, and the ones that did were extortionately expensive! Manolis pulled through for us when we needed and took us to the airport for such a great rate! Could not be more happy with the service and thank Manolis and his family enough! Highly recommend!

If you consider Kissamos area as your base for exploring Crete, look no further:) They offered me pick up and drop options at Heraklion airport at a rate significantly lower than rental companies based at the airport. The car was brand new and the fee quote from included full insurance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great car rental in Kissamos. We handled everything from Austria, via email and phone. The car, a beautiful Fiat Panda, was waiting at the airport in Chania. The Fiat was in very good condition. The price was also very good. Return at Chania airport is also without any problems. When we are back in the west we will rent there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During our stay, I considered the other rental options with more reviews first, only to receive condescending answers from unprofessional clerks. Then I stumbled upon Joy rent a car: great English, professional service. They offered a tiny bit higher price then the others, but they catered to all our needs and freed up a car for us with airport drop off. The car was in really great condition and it was very well worth it.
